CA – St. George & the Dragon Art Show

Justin Gerard opens an exhibition on August 6th at 7pm.

Press Release:

Hunting dragons is no easy task.  Just ask St. George, the original dragon slayer. Armed with only a lance and nobility, George ventured deep into the dragon’s lair, when the reptilian beast threatened to devour the king’s only daughter.  After engaging the monster in combat, George managed to capture the beast and behead it before all the fearful townspeople.  Gerard re-envisions this legendary tale with original watercolors and oils.  Process work will also be on display.

This exhibit will recreate this story through the works of Justin Gerard’s art pieces. An illustrator from Greenville, South Carolina, Gerard specializes in lush and lively illustrations, many of which feature creatures and characters of fantasy lore.  His works have been shown in Spectrum Fantastic Arts, the Society of Illustrators, and the Illustrator’s Annual.

On December 11, we bring you the most macro of the Micro Shows thus far. Featuring the talents working at Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks, artists were invited to do everything but wallpaper our upstairs Atrium gallery with their micro-sized creations.
