MD – Freakshow: The Wandering Tribe Signing

Press Release:

Cosmic Comix is hosts local creator BENJAMIN SHAFFER for a special signing on Saturday, February 11, 2017! Ben will be signing, answering questions, and hanging out right here from 11 am – 3 pm!

Ben is an editor, proposal writer, and sometime college professor living in Alexandria, VA. His writing influences include Alan Moore, Daniel Clowes, Kazuo Koike, Brett Lewis, Jason Aaron, and Katsuhiro Otomo, and his artistic influences include Jamie Hewlett, Goseki Kojima, and… well… Katsuhiro Otomo.

Freakshow: The Wandering Tribe is his first comic. Set in the 1930s, it tells the story of a troupe of carnival freaks wandering the United States in search of a mythical city where their kind can live in peace. Along the way, they battle strange creatures, solve mysteries, and search for redemption. Ideal for fans of the 1980s B horror movie Nightbreed and the short-lived HBO series Carnivale.

Upcoming projects include a children’s book (Apathetic Fruit Save the Princess) and a Daniel Clowes-style serial about a 20-year-old college student who makes a terrible life decision (Face Tattoo).
