Boston Comic Con has added several new guests to an already huge list of creators! Marvel Editor and talent scout C.B. Cebulski, who has worked on titles including X-Men, Avengers, and Spider-Man, will appear to conduct a limited number of portfolio reviews. This is a rare opportunity to sit down with Marvel’s top talent scout and show off your talents. More information on the portfolio reviews and the schedule will be announced closer to the convention.
Additionally, Silver Age legend Neal Adams appears at Boston’s biggest comic conventions once again! Neal has been one of the most influential artists in the industry both on the page and behind the scenes. From returning Batman to his dark and gritty roots to campaigning for creators’ rights, Adams and his photo-realistic art have graced the pages of The Brave and the Bold, Deadman, Uncanny X-Men, Avengers, Green Lantern / Green Arrow, and most recently Batman: Odyssey.
Local artist Ming Doyle, whose credits include Guardians of the Galaxy, Jennifer’s Body, Fantastic Four, and Tantalize, is a frequent guest of artist alley. She also co-created the webcomics The Loneliest Astronauts, Boldly Gone, and Mara from Image Comics. She recently drew Quantum & Woody for Valiant!
Artist Alex Saviuk appears once again at Boston Comic Con 2014. Alex began his career in the 1970s on Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkman, and Superman. He became well-known as a Spider-artist with a seven year run on Web of Spider-Man, and has drawn the Spider-Man newspaper strip since 1997. Other recent work includes penciling Stan Lee’s The Mighty Seven for Archie Comics, and another daily comic, The Phantom.
The most beloved man in comics Frank Tieri is a writer whose credits include Wolverine, Deadpool, Iron Man, and Infinity Heist for Marvel Comics; and Savage Hawkman, JSA: Classified, Gotham Underground, and Outsiders for DC Comics. He also worked on the popular Marvel vs. Capcom video game series and the cartoon Ultimate Spider-Man!

Mark Bagley (the all-star artist of Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, Fantastic Four, Ultimate Spider-Man, Justice League, Trinity, and many other books) will be a part of Dr. No’s Free Comic Book Day Festivities on May 3rd from noon until 2:00 pm. Mark’s relaunch of The Hulk, produced with writer Mark Waid, will be in stores just before FCBD, so you can get him to sign your copy on that day!

Doug Jones, Mike Pollock, and many more appear at Packrat Comics on Saturday May 3rd for Free Comic Book Day!
Doug Jones – Fans will long remember Doug for his work as THE SILVER SURFER in FANTASTIC FOUR RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER. He’s also the life and soul of ABE SAPIEN in HELLBOY and HELLBOY II THE GOLDEN ARMY (based on the popular Dark Horse comic book, returning to his role of ABE SAPIEN as well a taking on 2 other roles, that of THE CHAMBERLAIN and THE ANGEL OF DEATH for director Guillermo del Toro.)! In the film he wants to be remembered for Doug portrays 2 characters in the Oscar winning film Pan’s Labyrinth (in the native tongue of Spanish “El Laberinto del Fauno”). He plays BOTH Pan (the faun creature) and The Pale Man. Little trivia fact: He learned ALL his lines for the film in Spanish while comparing it to a special script prepared for him in English! Aside from these very POPULAR films you can also find Doug’s work as the voice of Abe Sapien in the HELLBOY cartoon series, as Bette Midler’s boyfriend BILLY in HOCUS POCUS, he was side by side with Danny De Vito in BATMAN RETURNS, PLUS he was one of the “Gentlemen” in the fan favorite TV series BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER! Mike Pollock – Mike Pollock is a voice actor, famous for playing characters in anime dubs by 4Kids Entertainment. He has appeared as the narrator for 4Kids shows like Pokémon and some promos on the original Fox Box and 4Kids TV. He is also well-known as the current voice actor for Dr. Eggman and Professor Gerald Robotnik in Sonic X and in all Sonic games from Shadow the Hedgehog.

This event brings together a diverse group of internationally recognized creators and editors for a discussion of the history and dynamics of women working in American comics. Panelists include women creators and editors of different generations including Raina Telgemeier, creator of Smile and Drama; Diane Noomin, creator of Glitz-2-Go and editor of the Twisted Sisters anthologies; Shelly Bond, Executive Editor of Vertigo comics; Alitha Martinez, a penciller and inker who has worked on Marvel’s Iron Man, X-Men, Black Son, Fantastic Four, and the Black Panther and currently WWE Superstars for Papercutz. They will discuss the role of women in comic narratives, career advice, and personal history, followed by Q&A.

Emerald City Comicon is proud to present an official Carol Corps Celebration event with Kelly Sue DeConnick, G. Willow Wilson, and Christopher Sebela at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Thursday, March 27th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Ticket holders will have the opportunity to meet awesome featured guests, mingle with them and each other, socialize, and enjoy the main exhibits in the Museum of Flight. Light hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and beverages will be provided. Tickets also guarantee all-day access to the Museum of Flight (during regular business hours of 10am to 5pm).
This event is designed to celebrate Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel and connect fans of those comics with their creators. Cosplay, demonstrations of creativity, and enthusiasm are highly encouraged.
Kelly Sue DeConnick is the writer behind the current Captain Marvel comic, as well as Pretty Deadly, Avengers Assemble, and Ghost. G. Willow Wilson is the writer for the new Ms. Marvel comic, in addition to work on All New Marvel Now! Point One, The Unexpected, and Mystic. Christopher Sebela has also written for Captain Marvel, as well as High Crimes, Ghost, and Fantastic Four.
Special guests also include Captain Marvel cover artist Dexter Vines, and Captain Marvel co-writer Jen Van Meter! Ms. Marvel guests include colorist Ian Herring and legendary comic artist Arthur Adams!
ECCC has partnered with We Love Fine to produce an exclusive “Captain Marvel at the Museum of Flight” t-shirt, available for purchase at the event or during ticket purchase. ECCC has also partnered with TopatoCo to provide an exclusive Carol Corps patch with art by Kate Leth (Kate or Die!, Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake) only available to the Carol Corps Celebration event attendees.
We are proud to partner with Optimystical Studios on an exclusive Captain Marvel pendant, available only at this event. We will also have Espionage Cosmetics and their ECCC Exclusive make up pack, with a table set up to provide manicures for those who buy nail wraps!
We have also invited local charity Comic Book Characters for Causes to attend, and they will be accepting donations. They will be bringing Captain Marvel, Spider-Woman, Black Widow, and Captain America. You’re welcome to get photos taken with them, or just talk cosplay and comics!
All proceeds for this event will be donated to the Girls Leadership Institute.
This event is open to people aged 16 and over. Tickets to Emerald City Comicon are NOT REQUIRED in order to attend this event. Tickets to the Carol Corps Celebration do not allow access in to Emerald City Comicon. This is separately ticketed event from the convention itself. About Brian Posehn:
Besides writing and performing on HBO’s acclaimed “Mr. Show”, he has appeared in sitcoms such as “Just Shoot Me”, “Seinfeld”, “NewsRadio”, “Everybody Loves Raymond”, and “Friends”.
Brian has also appeared in several movies, including Rob Zombie’s “The Devil’s Rejects” and “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”, “Sex Drive” and “Surfs Up”. In 2006 he released his first graphic novel, “The Last Christmas”, and a comedy album: “Live in Nerd Rage”. He is a regular on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and was a crowd favorite at the recent Bob Saget Roast on Comedy Central.
In 2008 he headlined the comedy stages at the popular music festivals, Download, Sasquatch and Bonnaroo. He also played a man with a prolapsed rectum on “Californication”.
In 2009 Brian wrote an episode of “The Sarah Silverman Program” and wrote the story for a “Metalocalypse” episode. He also made an appearance in the Judd Apatow film “Funny People”. He also directed a video for the hilarious hair metal band, Steel Panther.
In 2010 he continues to tour, is releasing a new album called “Fart and Wiener Jokes” and a new video for “More Metal Than You”, and was recently featured on the Golden Gods Awards performing his new song with his all-star metal band. Posehn is currently working on a new comic book (“Science Projects”).

A Reminder from the Committee for Line Reductions
The Committee for Line Reductions would like to note that starting this year, if you buy your ticket online, we’re mailing your badge to you about a month before the show. If you buy your ticket at your local comic book store, you’ll exchange that ticket for a badge at that same store anytime in March. Either way, you won’t need to wait in a line to trade in your ticket at the show! This has been a reminder from the Committee for Line Reductions.
