Adam West receives his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. with special guests Ralph Garman and Seth McFarlane at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Guinness World of Records Museum.*
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will honor Adam West with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. “We are thrilled to honor Adam with this prestigious award. Fans have been waiting for this special day for many years. Adam West fired up the billion dollar Batman franchise: the golden years and the classic Batman, the Bright Knight. He deserves his place of honor on our famed Walk of Fame,” said Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.
During the span of a 50-year career, from Batman to the voice of Quahog’s Mayor on Family Guy, Adam West has become a television icon.
Born in Walla Walla, Washington as William West Anderson , Adam began his career as a radio DJ and TV show host. He arrived in Hollywood in 1959, after landing a contract with Warner Brothers studios. That same year, he made his feature film debut opposite Paul Newman in The Young Philadelphians.
A long line of TV roles followed on shows like Maverick, Bonanza and The Outer Limits, as well as a co-starring role for a season on The Detectives.
But, in 1965, his life would change forever when producer William Dozier, impressed by Adam’s talent, looks and humor, handpicked him to take on the title role of ABC’s new TV series, BATMAN.
It’s been said the biggest pop-culture phenomena of the 1960’s can be boiled down to the “Three B’s”: Beatles, Bond, and BATMAN. In the early 1960’s, Batman was simply a cartoon character in a comic book that was close to cancellation, but Adam West’s performance in the ground-breaking TV adaptation propelled Batman into becoming one of the most-famous characters in modern fiction. West’s turn as the “classic” Batman has laid the foundation for the success of all the incarnations of the “Caped Crusader” that have followed after him. The smash success of the TV series, and the feature film that followed shortly thereafter, launched Adam West into international superstardom in 1966.
After its original run, BATMAN entered into non-stop syndication and Adam West has continued to garner new generations of fans all over the world for the past 40 years. All the while, he’s continued to work on stage, in movies and TV, and as a much sought-after voice actor.
It’s his wildly successful career as a voice actor that has brought him his most recent triumph as “Mayor Adam West” on the hugely popular, and critically-acclaimed, TV series Family Guy on the Fox network. Family Guy airs on Sunday evenings on FOX and fans can enjoy more from Family Guy with never-before-seen footage and extras when Volume 10 releases on DVD this Fall. Also this spring, fans can interact with Mr. West as he reprises his role as Family Guy’s Mayor Adam West, but this time in a virtual format in Twentieth Century Fox’s upcoming Family Guy Online game.
For the past 50 years, Adam West has not only been an international television star, but also a devoted father and husband, philanthropist, and dedicated ambassador of goodwill for the entertainment industry as he greets hundreds of thousands of his fans during personal appearances all over the globe.
*Special Note: Adam West has a Guinness World Record!
MOST APPEARANCES AS BATMAN:
Adam West has made 156 individual screen appearances as Batman, including 120 episodes of the 1966-68 Batman TV series and its accompanying feature film, numerous voiceover performances for animated series and TV movies, and the computer generated video short Batman: New Times’ in 2005.
Kevin Conroy, who has voiced the character in animated series and films since 1993, has notched up 118 appearances, putting him in 2nd place, and Olan Soule, who provided Batman’s voice during the 70s and 80s, comes in at 3rd place with 68 separate appearances.”

Seth MacFarlane appears on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 8:00pm! Presented by the Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard University.
We are honored to present the 2011 Harvard Humanist of the Year award to Seth MacFarlane: writer, director, and creator of hit TV shows Family Guy and American Dad! We are very excited MacFarlane was able to work this exclusive event, an award ceremony and fundraiser for our organization, into his schedule.
While it is rare for someone his age to receive this honor, his extensive body of work, his active, passionate commitment to Humanist values, and his fearless support of equal marriage rights and other social justice issues compel us to recognize his contributions now.
For 20 years, the Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard has presented the Humanist of the Year award to an individual whose life’s work and personal commitment most exemplified the application of Humanist values in the public arena. Past recipients have included the first openly nontheistic sitting U.S. congressman Pete Stark (2007); renowned scientists Steven Pinker and E.O. Wilson; and human rights hero General Romeo Dallaire.
MacFarlane will accept the award at the Memorial Church, in the heart of Harvard Yard, as part of the launch of a major Humanist initiative at Harvard.
Doors at 7:30pm.
Special Extras for Ticketholders!
As an expression of our Humanist values, we will begin the day with an environmental sustainability service project, coordinated in partnership with the Cambridge Energy Alliance and Home Energy Efficiency Team – Massachusetts. We will meet for this project at 12 Eliot St. at 10:00 am and travel off site. Please wear casual clothing and comfortable shoes. Lunch will be provided for a $10 donation.
In the afternoon and early evening preceding the award ceremony, we will host launch celebration and academic panel on “Community for Freethinkers” to celebrate the launch of our latest undertaking, the “Humanist Community Project.” In addition to Harvard Humanist Chaplain Greg Epstein and the HCH staff, this gathering will feature Todd Stiefel of the Stiefel Freethought Foundation; Jessica Ahlquist, high school student and Humanist activist; and others TBA. 3pm Emerson 105, Harvard Yard.
While these special event extras are free for ticket holders, we need you to RSVP here.

Seth MacFarlane and the cast of American Dad! appear on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00PM!
Good morning, USA! The animated Smiths of 43 Cherry Lane, Langley Falls, Virginia, led by patriarch Stan Smith, a rabid but clueless CIA agent, are just your typical American brood: devoted wife, dorky son, political-activist daughter, plus a sardonic alien and an anthropomorphic goldfish with the brain of a German Olympian—understanding of course that they inhabit the twisted terrain of Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy, and two former writers from that show, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. Blending satire with good old-fashioned (and not) family comedy, American Dad! has been described by MacFarlane as “sort of a Family Guy meets All in the Family kind of show.” Whatever it is, it’s working; American Dad! is a legit cult hit about to embark on its seventh season on Fox. Join us for a preview screening and chat with the voice cast and creative team.

The 2011 BMI “The Character of Music” Panelists
Dan Licht is an American film composer and musician, best known for composing the score for Showtime’s Emmy-winning series Dexter. Dan Licht’s numerous film and television credits include Hellraiser Bloodline, Stephen King’s Thinner and Permanent Midnight starring actor Ben Stiller. Jeremy Zuckerman is a highly-accomplished composer and electric guitarist whose work has been heard across the country, from the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He graduated magna cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in Music Production & Technology and Synthesis from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied with electronic music composer Richard Boulanger. His desire to delve further into composition and sound design within the context of new technologies led him to the other coast, to the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied with composers Morton Subotnick and Mark Trayle, and earned his master’s degree in Composition New Media. He occasionally returns to CalArts as a guest lecturer. In addition to his work with the Track Team, Jeremy has collaborated with choreographers, theater directors, and rock artist David Lee Roth. He continued his sonic explorations at the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied synthesis, signal processing, acoustics, music theory, and composition, and earned a bachelor’s degree in music technology. While at CalArts, Ben also delved into world music, studying Balinese gamelan, African drumming and hand percussion. Ben’s multi-layered musical sensibility combines hip-hop, electronic, world music and classical composition. In 2007, Ben collaborated with composer Joby Talbot on the score to Wayne McGregor’s ballet, Genus, based on Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, commissioned by the Paris Opera Ballet. The ambitious eight-part score combines electronics with 10-part choir, and string instruments. That score is available on Ant-Zen and Dear Oh Dear Records.
After two years working as a staff composer at a music library, Noah Sorota’s music caught the ear of Hans Zimmer, who asked him to come to Remote Control Productions. There he worked on a number of major motion pictures and other projects including Transformers, The Simpsons Movie, The Dark Knight, Angels and Demons, Henri IV, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Clash of the Titans, Rango (videogame), and X-Men: First Class. Noah was also a featured violinist on Guy Richie’s Sherlock Holmes, Game of Thrones, and 3 Musketeers. In 2010, Steven Spielberg gave Noah his first major composition project: Falling Skies. Noah continues to work on a wide variety of film and television projects in addition to writing concert music when time permits.

Although he carries on the tradition of hand-drawn animation, producer-writer-director-actor-animator Seth MacFarlane’s satirical view of life is anything but old fashioned. He pushes the envelope as far as possible when it comes to roasting sacred cows, frequently evoking the ire of various religious and parental watchdog groups, much to his delight. MacFarlane reigns over the current Sunday night Fox schedule, with his career-defining Family Guy, only the second animated program ever nominated for the Prime Time Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series; American Dad!, a send-up of jingoism; and The Cleveland Show, which proves his humor can cross racial barriers as it depicts a black family as dysfunctional and hilarious as any he has created.
