JP Roth is an artist, poet and mother of one. She has spent the greater majority of her life immersed in history, legends and fascinating cultures. She loves her son, good books, rhythmic languages, mythology and weaponry.

She has won poetry competitions in three continents and published her thesis. Also loves comic books, cosmetics, clothes and fast cars. ANCIENT DREAMS is an epic tale of blood lust, torment, passion, sacrifice and a love capable of destroying not only the gods themselves, but even the laws of space and time.
Eric Basaldua (known more commonly through his signature – EBAS) began his career at Top Cow Productions in 2000 under the direct tutelage of founder, Marc Silvestri. His early credits include Magdalena, Witchblade/Wolverine, and Tomb Raider.

He has attained notoriety through his works for Zenescope Comics and various cover art for several series within their line. Conducting all hand sketches using gray tones, Basaldua’s unique shading and anatomical display have become very recognizable. His sketch art and commissions have become more pronounced as he extends his professional footprint.

Wizard World Anaheim Comic Con 2011 Con Report

On April 29-May 1st 2011, the Anaheim Convention Center hosted the 2nd annual Wizard World Anaheim show. Considering the amount of traffic on a Friday evening in Los Angeles, and a start time of 5 PM, I wasn’t expecting many people to show up the first day. I was mistaken.

From the start, the show started off with a bang. Just like last year, the crowds of people showed up to see some of their favorite celebrities, and also to interact with comic book creators. Saturday’s crowds definitely rocked the show, and although the Sunday crowds definitely thinned out, it was a terrific con, just like last year. It seems Anaheim is a great spot for a comic convention, with a lot of people commenting this was their first show. Whether it was through word of mouth, or the 50% off ticket purchased through Yelp, the show was definitely a success. If Comic Con ever left SD, Anaheim might definitely be a place to call home. Now on to some pics!

Welcome to Wizard World Anaheim!

Long Beach Comic Con Part Deux

Long Beach Comic Con had a one day show to celebrate the success of it’s inaugural show. For a one day show, and a smaller venue, I was very shocked by the amount of creators that came to the show. Mike Mignola, Phillip Tan, Tim Bradstreet, Dustin Nguyen, Stan Sakai, Joe Benitez, Todd Nauck, Ebas, and many more artists and writers came out for this surprising busy show. With strong retailer presence and the star power with many comics creators, this show was a huge success.

Golden Apple 30th Anniversary!

Golden Apple, Hollywood’s Comic Shop to the stars, held their 30th anniversary this past Saturday, December 12. Even with the rain, fans showed up in full force as several publishing companies, such as Archaia, Aspen, Top Cow, and Boom Studios, helped celebrate the anniversary with limited edition comics and prints exclusive to the event, as well as huge sales for comics. In addition, Hero Initiative got Whilce Portacio, Image Comics co-founder, to show up and sketch for the fans for donations. Everyone had a great time, and afterwards, a party was held for all the contributors to this great event. Without further ado, onto the photos of the event!
