The Locust Moon Comics Festival, Philadelphia’s premiere celebration of comics, illustration, and the graphic arts, returns to the historic Rotunda, just off UPenn’s campus, on Saturday October 31st from 11:00 AM till 6:00 PM. This year’s guests include Craig Thompson (Space Dumplins, Blankets), Chris Claremont (Uncanny X-Men, Wolverine), Noah Van Sciver (Fante Bukowski, Blammo), David Mack (Fight Club 2, Kabuki), Bill Sienkiewicz (Moon Knight, New Mutants), Dean Haspiel (The Quitter, The Fox), Alexa Kitchen and Denis Kitchen (Kitchen Sink Press), and more to be announced throughout September.

Archie Comics will have exclusive variant covers, special creator signings, and three must-see panels at this year’s New York Comic Con, the premiere pop-culture extravaganza in New York City from October 9-12 at the Jacob Javits Center.

Our great friends over at Hang Dai Studios will be joining us for a fantastic signing event with Dean Haspiel (The Fox, American Splendor), Christa Cassano (The Giant Effect) and Josh Neufeld (The Vagabonds).

Along with celebrating Dean Haspiel’s art in FF #5, which hits the same day, it is also World Blood Cancer Day. Seth Kushner (SCHMUCK, Leaping Tall Buildings), a great comic writer, photographer and artist, and friend of Dean and us at JHU, has been diagnosed with Leukemia. As he awaits a marrow donor, we thought it would be a perfect time to host a bone marrow drive.

Delete Blood Cancer is going to be here, swabbing and informing folks on how being a donor works. (More on that below!) Even if we don’t find a match for Seth at our event, there are millions of others that could use your help and you as their match!
