Baltimore Comic-Con 2017 Announces Panel Programming

The 18th annual Baltimore Comic-Con returns to the Baltimore Convention Center the weekend of September 22-24, 2017Tickets are available now for General Admission, VIP, and Ringo Awards! As is the case every year, we have received a steady stream of requests for our Panel schedule — details are now ready for release, and we’re really excited to share them with you!

Friday will feature a spotlight on one of the most popular creators in modern comics, Frank Miller. Also, a spotlight on Matt Kindt, the Jimmy and Amanda panel, numerous panels featuring some of the industry’s largest publishers including Archie and Dynamite, a look at the Kirby Museum, and a game show!

Saturday, publisher panels include DC Comics, Marvel Comics, BOOM! Studios, Image Comics, Valiant, and Dynamite, a spotlight panel on Bob Fujitani, a seminar from Carl Potts, and media guests Stefan KapicicDMCFinn Jones, Jessica Henwick, David Mazouz, and Sean Pertwee. Plus, celebrate Batman Day and The Mike Wieringo Tellos Tribute.

The RIGHT way to kill a zombie! From chainsaws to helicopter blades, novelist Peter Meredith hosts a light-hearted panel discussion on the many ways found in literature and film to slay the undead.

3:15-4:15 – The Power of Magic and the Magic of Memory

Learn about magic in comics, its roots in reality, and the magic of memory. Chris Miskiewicz (Thomas Alsop) will talk about the magical mythology of New York City, and Dean Haspiel (The Red Hook) will preview his upcoming webcomic War Cry, showing how transfiguration can deliver powerful moments in storytelling. Sarah Trustman (The Memory Arts) will discuss using comics to teach real-world magic and give a demonstration of the same memory techniques that appear so fantastic that using them got people burned as witches. And, David Trustman (The Rise) will discuss his controversial graphic novel God Slap and its modern take on religious magic.

PAUL POPE, DEAN HASPIEL, NICK BERTOZZI, CHRIS MISKIEWICZ, and *just added* BOB FINGERMAN all four of whom will be celebrating the release of new comics, graphic novels, and/or editions of their iconic work, appear at Forbidden Planet on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 6:30 pm!

Purchase of Escapo from Forbidden Planet NYC is mandatory to attend the Paul Pope side of our event. Your receipt, and a voucher we will attach to it at checkout, will be your ticket to Paul’s line. We anticipate a large turnout for him, and are limiting additional autographs ONE ITEM per attendee to keep things moving. Please do not bring more than that.

**If you will be here to see Dean, Nick and/or Chris we also encourage purchase of their books (and will have plenty of ‘em… they’re well worth it), but there will be no limit to additional autographs.

Follow the neorealist surrealism of Zegas #1 in its full color, kaleidoscopic glory. With 32 pages of all new material, this limited edition premiere features the cast that originally appeared in IDW’s Act-i-vate Primer and MTV Geek. 
 
Actress/artist, Natalie Kim, will be launching SuperTwins!, a comedic web-series about fraternal superheroes in NYC who find their Superhero Medallion suddenly revoked and they have to recapture the magic that made them famous in the first place. 
 
New York Times best-selling children’s illustrator/author, George O’Connor, will be signing his latest release: Book 3 of Olympians; Hera: The Goddessand Her Glory.

Fashion designer/cartoonist, Kat Roberts, will debut, YOU ARE ALWAYS ON MY MIND #1, a new collection of vignettes led by the personal recollection of a quasi-religious childhood encounter with Jim Morrison.

Actor/Author, Chris Miskiewicz, will be hawking his ACT-I-VATE webcomic, EVERYWHERE.
