IL – Shuteye Signing

Local illustrator, comics artist, author, and designer Sarah Becan, has brought all these talents together in her second graphic novel, the Shuteye Collection. Shuteye is a series of six darkly intimate comics: stories woven together with the thick fibers of dreams, powerfully real, yet entirely imagined. Aside from her new collection, Sarah is a prolific minicomics artist, and recipient of the Xeric Grant for her 2010 graphic novel, The Complete Ouija Interviews. Chicago Comics is hosting Sarah on March 3rd 2012 from 4 – 6pm while she signs her work, does sketches, and talks to fans.

IL – The Night Bookmobile Signing

Audrey Niffenegger signs on October 2nd from 4pm – 6pm. She will be promoting her graphic novel The Night Bookmobile.

Audrey Niffenegger was raised in Chicago and continues to live there to this day. She is a prolific artist utilizing many mediums including painting, printmaking, and the sequential graphic arts. Audrey is perhaps best known for her novel The Time Traveler’s Wife, published in 2003 with MacAdam/Cage. It was an international best seller, and has been made into a movie.

Gauntlgrym will be the latest book in the Legend of Drizzt saga by R.A. Salvatore. It will bring together two popular Forgotten Realms franchises: Drizzt Do’Urden & the Neverwinter Nights games. A mock-up of the artwork from the front cover of the book has been shown online and was taken from Todd Lockwood’s art done for Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone.

Brian Azzarello and Hero Initiative Take You to the Ballgame

Comic legend Brian Azzarello, writer of 100 Bullets, Joker, Banner, and many more, is a HUGE Cubs fan. He’s also a Cubs season ticket holder at Wrigley Field. Azzarello has generously agreed to take three Cubs fans with him to the Friendly Confines to see the Cubs play the New York Mets on Sept. 3, 2010, all to benefit the Hero Initiative, the non-profit organization that provides medical and financial aid for comic creators in need.

IL – Rough Justice Signing

Alex Ross will be signing and promoting his new book Rough Justice with Chicago Comics on June 5th from 3pm to 5pm.

Here is a behind-the-scenes look at the stunning black-and-white drawings of the DC characters you loved from Mythology: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Black Canary, and many more.
