SATURDAY, APRIL 10 ● 1–3pm Every second Saturday the Schulz Museum hosts a new Cartoonist-in-Residence! This month meet, watch, and talk to cartoonist, journalist and lawyer Phil Witte. Witte’s cartoons often have an editorial slant and have appeared in national newspapers and magazines, including The San Francisco Chronicle.

Every second Saturday the Schulz Museum hosts a new Cartoonist-in-Residence! Meet, watch, and talk to Scott Kurtz. Kurtz has been creating comics since age 9. His current on-line comic, Player Vs. Player (PVP), has been appearing daily since 1998 and has a following of over 150,000 readers a day. PVP won the 2006 Eisner Award for Best Digital Comic.

Every second Saturday the Schulz Museum hosts a new Cartoonist-in-Residence! Meet, watch, and talk to graphic novelist Brian Fies. Fies’ first graphic novel, Mom’s Cancer, won the comic industry’s 2005 Eisner Award for Best Digital Comic, a new category that year. His second book, Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow?, was released in 2009.

Every second Saturday the Schulz Museum hosts a new Cartoonist-in-Residence! Meet, watch and talk to Rabbits Against Magic creator Jonathan Lemon. Having worked as a character animator for videogames, Lemon started cartooning in 1997 with a strip called Bigshot. He is currently the editorial cartoonist for HybridCars.com. Rabbits Against Magic is his latest comic strip project. He has won several awards for his art including two Zap Awards and a South East Arts Award.

Meet, watch, and talk to Leigh Rubin, creator of Rubes, a single-panel cartoon that appears in over 400 newspapers around the world. Rubes has been appearing in papers since 1984 and can be found in the Sacramento Bee, Washington Times, Los Angeles Daily News, and more.

Every second Saturday the Schulz Museum hosts a new Cartoonist-in-Residence, but this month the Museum is hosting two! Meet, watch, and talk to husband and wife cartoonists Damien Jay and Melanie “Minty” Lewis.  Lewis is the creator of P.S Comics, and her most recent issue won the 2007 Ignatz Award for Outstanding Mini-Comic. Jay is the creator of The Natural World and several other self-published comics.
