Cartoon Network Continues the Celebration at 2012 San Diego Comic-Con

NETWORK ANNOUNCES PANELS AND EVENTS LEADING UP TO 20TH BIRTHDAY BASH IN THE FALL

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Cartoon Network’s amplified Convention Center presence will include a fan-centric booth, buzzing with activity showcasing a life-sized, interactive re-creation of the living room from their hit series Regular Show, where lead characters Mordecai and Rigby spend a majority of their time. As the network prepares for its 20th Birthday celebration later this year, fans will have an opportunity to be filmed by Cartoon Network cameras in the Regular Show living room or in the Network’s 20th Birthday “confessional room” sharing some of their favorite Cartoon Network memories. Some lucky fans may even be featured on the Network during three upcoming marathon weekends! For fans and collectors alike, this year’s Comic-Con exclusive giveaways will include five different Regular Show buttons and a sure-to-please Cartoon Network 20th Birthday mini-poster.

With hit animated comedy series Regular Show and Adventure Time taking center stage at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, events will include star-studded panels and signings along with other featured Cartoon Network series Ben 10: OmniverseAnnoying OrangeDreamworks Dragons: Riders of BerkLevel UpStar Wars: The Clone WarsMAD and many more!

Green Lantern: Rise of the Red Lanterns DVD Release

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps embark on their latest intergalactic missions as Warner Home Video (WHV) releases Green Lantern: The Animated Series —Rise of the Red Lanterns (Season 1 Part 1) on DVD. Based on the adventures of the popular DC Comics super hero, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, currently part of Cartoon Network’s DC Nation programming block (Saturdays at 10 a.m. ET/PT), is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and animation legend Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series; DC Universe Animated Original Movies). The two-disc DVD set featuring the first 13 episodes of the CG-animated action series will be available on August 28, 2012 for $19.97 SRP.

Ben must team up with Rex to defeat a common enemy who covets the Omnitrix and Omega Nanite! ) and I said if it was for press than it was fine but if it was consumer driven we would prefer to keep it simple because most people don’t care or even know anything about omega nanites.  So including that descriptive language is fine, but let’s keep it simple: In the midst of battle, Ben Tennyson is drawn into a vortex and lands in an alternate world infected by nanites…the world of Generator Rex!  Ben and Rex will face off before realizing they must unite to battle a common enemy who threatens both of their worlds!

Cartoon Network Series Panels and Events Lineup for 2011 San Diego Comic-Con International

In 2011 Cartoon Network will transport fans attending San Diego Comic-Con International to the unpredictable and exciting world of Adventure Time!  The Land of Ooo comes to Comic Con and to the streets of San Diego with an Adventure Time themed booth, Pizzeria and the first-ever Adventure Time Parade.

Based on the hit show, Cartoon Network’s booth will feature a massive one-of-a-kind inflatable of series star Jake, with Finn and Lady Rainicorn along for the ride.  Fans will be able to take photos set in the Land of Ooo with Adventure Time characters, collect five exclusive Adventure Time buttons, participate in an open casting call to audition as their favorite Adventure Time character and attend a star-studded panel filled with live readings, giveaways, and more!

Cartoon Network once again goes beyond the San Diego Convention Center with an even bigger presence, this time based around the massively popular show Adventure Time! Visit the Cartoon Network Pizzeria (Ciro’s Pizzeria, 536 Market Street, Between 5th and 6th in the Gaslamp Quarter) from Wednesday, July 20–Sunday, July 24 for a unique, fully immersive takeover. BURBANK, Calif. (July 15, 2011) — Sunday is family day at Comic-Con, and this year for the first time, Warner Bros. Entertainment will partner with Time Warner sister company Cartoon Network on a daylong “booth takeover” initiative. On Sunday, July 24, at Comic-Con International: San Diego, the Warner Bros. booth — with its distinctive 30-foot tall replica of the iconic Warner Bros. water tower — will transform overnight into the Cartoon Network booth to create a fun, family friendly environment designed just for kids.

In celebration of family day, Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. will present a day’s worth of kid-friendly events at the booth, including:

  • Signings by stars and creators from “Regular Show,” “Adventure Time,” “The Looney Tunes Show,” “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated” and “Young Justice”
  • The return of last year’s smash success kids’ Dance Party, featuring costumed characters like Scooby-Doo and Bugs Bunny
  • Live demonstrations by cartoonists and other artists, including iconic “MAD” illustrator Sergio Aragones

ThunderCats Premieres at SDCC 2011

ThunderCats, one of the most beloved cartoons of the 1980s and a continuing cultural force, comes to Cartoon Network in an all-new contemporary reimagining of the iconic animated series.  Set as an epic tale, ThunderCats tells the story of a hero’s journey to fulfill his ultimate destiny. The series begins with an hour-long special premiere event on Friday, July 29, at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). Following the premiere, the show will air regularly on Cartoon Network Friday nights at 8:30 p.m. (ET, PT) beginning August 5.

Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats! Ho!! On Third Earth, the kingdom of Thundera is being threatened by the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra, and Lion-O, the young heir to the throne, embarks on a great quest to take his rightful place as king.  The unlikely champion must work with his faithful comrades Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, WilyKit, WilyKat, and his loyal pet, Snarf, who join him on his journey to save their world from darkness.
