A champion of cosplay, Ivy will be this year’s guest judge of the annual costume contest, currently scheduled to be held on Sunday August 10, 2014. Additionally, she will host a Cosplay 101 panel to answer questions for anyone interested in getting into the hobby and doesn’t know where to start. Ivy will also be on hand all weekend to sign autographs and take photos with her legions of fans. Plus some surprises to be announced in the coming months! Tell your friends!

About Ivy Doomkitty:
Ivy Doomkitty is an International Costume Designer/Cosplayer, Host, Artist, Gamer, and Figure Model for comic book artist/writer, Frank Cho, based in Los Angeles. Ivy has been attending conventions for many years, before deciding to take the plunge by showing her fandom through cosplay.

She now uses this new found passion to create her own costumes and use them to bring to life her favorite characters from gaming and comics as well as creating a positive impact in the cosplay community. She strives to show others in the community that you can do something you love, regardless of gender, skin color, sexual orientation, body shape/size, etc.

Ivy was recently the Featured Cosplayer on the Premier Episode of the webseries, “Cospladies”, a short documentary on the trials, tribulations, and love of cosplay. Ivy is also a member of the West Coast Avengers/Avengers Initiative, taking part in charity events in Southern California.

Ivy heavily promotes the art of Cosplay at every convention that she is a guest at, including participating in panels, judging the costume contest, and meeting many fans that are interested in starting in the craft. In the past, she has interviewed some incredible talent, including Stan Lee, Lou Ferrigno, Arthur Suydam, Michael Golden, and more. She has also written comic book reviews, in addition to presenting and hosting costume contests. Archie Comics’ Dan Parent Comes to Boston Comic Con 2014

Archie Comics writer and artist DAN PARENT makes his first appearance at Boston Comic Con for this year’s show!  A graduate of the Kubert School, Dan began working for Archie immediately after graduation. One of the most popular and prolific creators on the Archie roster, Dan is best known for creating the Riverdale gang’s first openly gay character, Kevin Keller. He has also worked on notable storylines including Archie’s first interracial romance with Valerie (of the Pussycats), and guest appearances by Barack Obama, KISS, George Takei, and the cast of Glee.

Firefly’s Jewel Staite Comes to Boston Comic Con 2014

Boston Comic Con is excited to welcome JEWEL STAITE to our 2014 convention n August 8th – 10th! Jewel Staite is best known for playing Kaylee Frye, the cheerful ship’s mechanic, on Joss Whedon’s beloved space western series Firefly. Jewel made her feature film debut reprising the role in 2005′s Serenity. Since then she has gone on to portray Dr. Jennifer Keller on Syfy’s Stargate: Atlantis alongside fellow Boston Comic Con guest Jason Momoa. Jewel has also held roles on series including The Killing, State of Syn, Animism, The L.A. Complex, and Space Cases. Furthermore she has made appearances on several genre shows like Supernatural, The X-Files, and Warehouse 13.

Boston Comic Con Returns in August 2014

Boston Comic Con has announced its initial details for next year’s convention! Following the phenomenal success of the 2013 show, the 2014 convention will again be held in August at the Seaport World Trade Center on Boston’s historic waterfront. The promoters have added an additional day to the convention which is scheduled to run Friday August 8th till Sunday August 10th. Joining the festivities this year is an all-star list of comic creators including: Rafael Albuquerque, Tim Bradstreet, Amanda Conner, Mike Kunkel, Jorge Molina, Dustin Nguyen, Jimmy Palmiotti, Carlos Pacheco, Ramón Pérez, Esad Ribic, Gail Simone, Cat Staggs, and many more! Additionally, the first media guests have been announced: Torchwood’s Eve Myles and Spike himself, James Marsters! Carlos Pacheco Appears at Boston Comic Con 2013

Boston Comic Con is thrilled to announce superstar artist CARLOS PACHECO is coming all the way from Spain for a rare US appearance! Fresh off of Schism and Avengers vs. X-Men, he is currently working on Marvel’s upcoming crossover event Age of Ultron.

Carlos first broke into American comics in 1994 with a Bishop miniseries for Marvel Comics and several issues of The Flash for DC. His art quickly made him a fan favorite with runs on Excalibur, Starjammers, Fantastic Four, and more. Carlos received greater recognition while working on high profile projects including Avengers Forever, Green Lantern, JLA/JSA: Virtue & Vice, and the creator-owned title Arrowsmith. He most recently drew Ultimate Avengers and Uncanny X-Men.

Iconic Star of “Star Trek,” “T.J. Hooker,” “Boston Legal” To Appear Saturday, January 28 At Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

NEW YORK and NEW ORLEANS, December 5, 2011 – William Shatner, who has starred in popular television series and movies for more than five decades, will attend 2012 Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, it was announced today.  Shatner, whose most well-known credits include lead roles in “Star Trek,” “T.J. Hooker” and “Boston Legal,” will appear on Saturday, January 28, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Instantly recognizable to several generations of cult TV fans as the square-jawed Capt. James T. Kirk, commander of the starship USS Enterprise, Shatner went on to star in several feature films in the “Star Trek” franchise’s revival in the 1980′s.  He also won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of attorney Denny Crane in the television dramas “The Practice” and its spin-off “Boston Legal,” and currently hosts the edgy, off-beat Biography channel original talk show “Shatner’s Raw Nerve.”

“William Shatner is a television and movie icon to the highest degree,” said John Macaluso, Wizard World Board of Directors.  “He has entertained millions of fans over the last half-century, and Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con attendees are ecstatic to have the chance to meet him in person.”

(WIZD.PK) will bring together thousands of fans of all ages and dozens of celebrities and industry professionals to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, comics, toys, video gaming, television, sci-fi, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more.

The roster of top artists at Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con is also impressive, including Carlos Pacheco (“X-Men,” “Green Lantern”), George Pérez (“Superman,” “JSA”), Jesus Merino (“Superman,” “Superman/Batman”), Félix Ruiz (“Halo: Fall Of Reach – Boot Camp,” “Marvel Zombies 5), Tyler Kirkham (“Green Lantern: New Guardians,” “Amazing Spider-Man”), Barry Kitson(“Uncanny X-Force,” “Spider-Man”), Greg Horn (“Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark,” “X-Force”), Bernie Wrightson (“Batman,” “House of Mystery”), Norm Breyfogle (“Batman Beyond, “Life with Archie”), Arthur Suydam (“Marvel Zombies,” “Army of Darkness”) and dozens of others.

Children and adult attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite villain, superhero or pop culture personality for the chance to win special prizes in costume contests.  Event-goers may also try their hand interactive product exhibits and shop for collectible comics, movie and television memorabilia, toys and games at scores of dealer booths.

New Orleans Comic Con is the first stop on Wizard World’s 2012 North American tour.  Hours are Saturday, January 28, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; and Sunday, January 29, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Tickets are available in advance online at http://www.wizardworldcomiccon.com/neworleans.html at a savings over tickets purchased at the door.  Advance adult single-day tickets are priced at $25 ($30 on site); weekend all-session tickets are $40 ($45 on site), and tickets are free for children age 10 and under when accompanied by a paid adult (limit two children per adult).  VIP packages with special entry and exclusive items are also available on a limited basis.
