OK everyone… So here’s a breakdown of the HUGE event that is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!!!
It’s all happening Saturday May 4th right here at I.E. Comics!
First off, we want to let you know about our very special guests!
Making his triumphant return to FCBD is Marvel, DC & Dark Horse Artist ROGER ROBINSON! Roger will be here all day signing your comics and selling his prints and original art! Roger is also the artist of the FCBD Comic CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT from Dark Horse Comics!
STAR WARS FANS rejoice!! Making his first appearance at FCBD here at I.E. Comics is Dark Horse Star Wars Artist CARLOS D’ANDA!!! This amazing, supremely talented artist will be here all day signing your comics!
And if those two weren’t enough, Meet the writer and artist of the hit series TODD THE UGLIEST KID ON EARTH, KEN KRISTENSEN & M.K. PERKER!!! Both of these amazingly talented people will be here at I.E. Comics for the first time signing your copies of Todd!
And Walking Dead Fans will be pleased to know that CHRIS THORNE, Artist on the Walking Dead Trading Card Series will be back signing your Walking Dead stuff, selling his prints and doing sketches!!!
It’s going to be like a Mini Comic-Con here on the 4th!!! Here’s some of the great things we have planned all day long!!
*2 GIANT BOUNCE HOUSES!!! We’ve got some seriously fun places for the little ones (an the parents) to play in all day long!!!!
*ULTRA MEGA HUGE MAGIC EVENT with hundreds of dollars in prizes!!! This is going to be our biggest Magic Event EVER!! Keep watching for details and prize breakdown… Best of all, everyone who plays will win a prize!!!
*We’re going to have evening entertainment with the band P2 performing at 5pm!!! It’s going to be great fun for the entire family!!!
*The artists, writers and “cast” of the new Graphic Novel “THE AWAKENED” will have a booth and showcasing their new book and taking pre-orders!
*The artists and writers of the new book series 8-BIT PULP will be on hand to sign copies of their first 2 issues and showcase some of their upcoming work!!
*Local Comic Strip artist and all around great guy Ambrose Quintanilla will be on hand signing copies of his comic and book and doing sketches for his fans attending!
*Representatives from ColoRiffic.com will be here showcasing their supercool designs and taking orders for their products!
*Incredibly talented local artist ALY VILLA will be on hand showcasing some of her work and selling select pieces! Come by and check out this amazing artist and sign up for a commission piece!
*Local artist & writer, Larime Taylor will be here promoting his new comic “VOICE IN THE DARK”!!! He’ll be selling copies of the new book and speaking with fans!!
And when it gets dark… We celebrate STAR WARS DAY.. May The 4th Be With You with our presentation of the EWOK MOVIE: THE CARAVAN OF COURAGE and THE BATTLE FOR ENDOR!!! The movies will be shown on our big 15×30 screen outside with plenty of seating!!
AND IF THAT’S STILL NOT ENOUGH… at 10pm, we have our 1ST ANNUAL NERDS ANONYMOUS MIXER!!! This is a 21 and over event that everyone who enjoys comics & pop culture will be able to attend! There will be music and refreshments for everyone, a silent auction for the Make*A*Wish Foundation! Come meet new people and make some new friends or spark up some romance!!!
PLUS… The first person in line for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY when we open at 10am will get a complete set of all of the FCBD Comics AND 4 FREE Marvel Trades!!! The next 19 people in line will be given a raffle ticket for a chance to win the same set of comics as the first person in line…

Jo Chen Covers ECCC’s Monsters & Dames

Seattle, WA – January 26, 2010 – The Emerald City ComiCon (ECCC) is once again bringing back its popular MONSTERS & DAMES art book for 2010. It features almost fifty brand new pieces of art by some of the top illustrators in comics, as well as an amazing cover by Jo Chen (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8).
“We sold out of our entire run of the 2009 Monsters & Dames art book,” said ECCC organizer Jim Demonakos. “Thanks to that, and overwhelming feedback from our attendees, we’ve created another fantastic collection of monsters, dames, lady monsters and everything in between!”
This full-color, 9″x12″, 48-page hardcover is limited to only 850 individually numbered copies and features contributions from artists such as Tim Sale, Mike Allred, Darick Robertson, Whilce Portacio, Eric Basaldua, Aaron Lopresti, Philip Tan, Michael Golden, Carlos D’Anda, Brian Churilla, Gabriel Hardman, Jamie McKelvie, Jim Rugg, Timothy Green, Steve Rolston, Jeff Lemire, Matt Kindt, Mark Texeira and dozens more!
Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from this book benefits the Seattle Children’s Hospital, a premier child health care and pediatric center and recognized as one of the leading US hospitals for children.
The Eighth Annual Emerald City ComiCon will be taking place March 13-14, 2010 at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center in beautiful downtown Seattle, WA.
