Cartoonist Bryan Lee O’Malley appears at the Town Hall on Saturday July 19th at 6:30 pm for a signing of his new graphic novel Seconds.

Press Release:

This edition of Verse Chapter Verse features an author Q&A with Canadian cartoonist Bryan Lee O’Malley, sandwiched between the musical stylings of Seattle-based Tacocat. Magic mushrooms, second chances, and best intentions all surface in O’Malley’s newest work. Seconds: A Graphic Novel follows the journey of chef Katie, her restaurant-related business exploits, ex-boyfriend, and what it means to start over. The event is presented as part of Verse Chapter Verse, The Stranger’s readings-and-music series, with books editor Paul Constant. The Q&A will take place between brief Tacocat sets — a palindrome, a foursome, and a “pop-punk-pop” band. O’Malley is the author of New York Times bestselling Scott Pilgrim series.

Presented by: Town Hall and The Stranger, in partnership with University Book Store, as part of the Arts & Culture series. Sponsored by City Arts.
Tickets: $5.
Town Hall Member Benefits: Priority seating, discounted onsite book sales.
Doors open: 6:30 pm

Signing note: Signings will be limited so that any attendees can get 1 copy of Seconds signed plus 1 other item (including books/comics by the author, and the Scott Pilgrim DVD. No toys, shirts, bags, body parts, or other memorabilia). If a fan doesn’t have a copy of Seconds, then they only get 1 item signed. One item per person will be personalized — the second item will get a signature only. Pictures in line are okay, but no posed photos.

More information will be released the second week of March.

Comics Creator Skills and Development Day: TCAF will be holding a full day of skills-building workshops for comics creators on Friday, May 10th.
