PHILADELPHIA, May 4, 2010 — Philadelphia Comic Con, part of North America’s largest pop-culture touring expo, will return to the “City of Brotherly Love” for the 10th straight year with a three-day run at Philadelphia Convention Center, Friday through Sunday, June 11-13, 2010. Philadelphia Comic Con will bring together thousands of fans of all ages and more than 150 celebrities and industry professionals to celebrate the best in pop culture movies, comics, toys, video gaming, television, anime, manga, horror, sports, original art, collectibles, contests, movie screenings, and more.

Among the scheduled celebrity guests at Philadelphia Comic Con are William Shatner (“Star Trek”), Adam West (“Batman,” “Family Guy,”) Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Army of Darkness”), James Marsters (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Caprica,” “Smallville”), Tia Carrere (Wayne’s World, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”; “Relic Hunter”), Clare Kramer (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Bring it On”), Lou Ferrigno (“The Incredible Hulk”), Scott Porter (“Caprica,” “Friday Night Lights”), Adrianne Curry (“America’s Next Top Model,” “My Fair Brady”), Christopher Knight (“The Brady Bunch,” “My Fair Brady”), Stephen Baldwin (The Usual Suspects, Bio-Dome), Jake Busey (Starship Troopers, The Frighteners) and Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters).

Children and adult attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite villain, superhero or pop culture personality for the chance to win special prizes in daily costume contests. Event-goers may also try their hand interactive product exhibits by trend-setting brands such as Ford (displaying a new vehicle), THQ (showing a video game) and TBS (screening a new television program); shop for collectible comics, movie and television memorabilia, toys and games at more than 400 dealer booths; and experience the show’s Horror Pavilion dedicated to writers, artists, musicians, and actors well known in that genre.

Sanctioned Tabletop Gaming Tournaments for Warhammer & Warhammer 40k and Trading Card Gaming Tournaments for YuGiOh, Pokemon, World of Warcraft & Magic the Gathering will take place throughout the weekend offering casual and competitive players the opportunity to win valuable prizes and increase their rankings. Additionally, event- goers are invited to bring their own short films to the expo, and enter the NYC Horror Film Festival’s Killer Short Sudden Death Competition. Winners will be inducted into the NYC Horror Film Festival program later this year.

Philadelphia Comic Con is the third stop on Wizard’s nine-city 2010 North American tour. Doors open Fri., June 11 from noon – 8 p.m. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., and hours on Sunday are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (all times Eastern). Bruce Campbell: Legendary Actor, Writer, Director and Producer. Bruce is best known for his starring role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy (Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness). He currently stars as Sam Axe in Burn Notice. Bruce has an array of impressive credits which include: The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., My Name is Bruce, Bubba Ho-Tep, Sky High, Jack of All Trades, Xena: Warrior Princess, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Aqua Teen Hunger Force: The Movie, Man with the Screaming Brain and Congo. Dick Giordano:When one mentions the legends that have shaped the history of the comics industry, rest assured that high on that list will be the name of Dick Giordano. Since 1951, Dick Giordano has worked his pencil and ink magic for a variety of publishers including Charlton Comics, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dell, American Comics, Valiant, Treasure Chest and Junior Life. FLORIDA SUPERCON ANNOUNCES TWENTY NEW GUESTS
INCLUDING: BRUCE CAMPBELL, MATTHEW LEWIS, SHELLY MOLDOFF & MARK BROOKS

We are proud to announce the addition of a twenty new guests to our growing line up.

Bruce Campbell: Legendary Actor, Writer, Director and Producer. Bruce is best known for his starring role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy (Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness). He currently stars as Sam Axe in Burn Notice. Bruce has an array of impressive credits which include: The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., My Name is Bruce, Bubba Ho-Tep, Sky High, Jack of All Trades, Xena: Warrior Princess, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Aqua Teen Hunger Force: The Movie, Man with the Screaming Brain and Congo. In addition to his film career, Campbell is an accomplished writer, including authoring an autobiography, If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor and a comical novel entitled Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way.

Matthew Lewis: Star of the Harry Potter series of films, Matthew has portrayed Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter & The Order of The Phoenix, Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince and the upcoming Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows.

Sheldon Moldoff: A true legend in the comic book industry. Sheldon began his career at seventeen when he contributed a sports filler that appeared on the inside front cover of the landmark Action Comics #1 (June 1938), the comic book that introduced Superman. He soon became Bob Kane’s first assistant on Batman, working with Batman off and on for thirty years. From about 1939, he was one of DC’s most prolific cover artists, illustrating many covers, including the cover to All American #16, the first appearance of Green Lantern. In 1953 he became one of the lead artists on Batman, which he continued to draw for the next 14 years. During his Batman run, Sheldon created and co-created a slew of characters including: The Bat-Girl, Bat-Mite, Ace The Bat Hound and Poison Ivy. In the mid 1960′s Sheldon turned to animation, doing storyboards for such animated TV series as Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse. Sheldon continued to contribute to the comic industry into the 21st century.

Mark Brooks: Superstar Comic Book Artist. Credits include: Avengers: The Initative, New X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Fantastic Four, Transformers, Cable & Deadpool, Amazing Fantasy, Arana, What If?, G.I. Joe: Battle Files and Amazing Spider-Man.

Daniel Logan: Media Guest and Actor. Daniel is best known for his role as “Young” Boba Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

Brad Keston: Voice Actor. Brad was the voice of Charlie Brown in many Peanuts cartoons, including: The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, Is This Goodbye Charlie Brown?, What Have We Learned Charlie Brown?, It’s Flashbeagle Charlie Brown, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.

Stephanie Yanez: Discovering music at the age of 5, Stephanie Yanez was born to sing. Her love for music eventually led her to record four songs on Geneon’s Anime Karaoke Collection with three of those songs recorded with overseas Japan-based record label I’VE. This CD also includes the song that she won at Anime Expo’s AX Idol 2004 “Ningyo Hime” from the top anime series Chobits!

Dick Giordano:When one mentions the legends that have shaped the history of the comics industry, rest assured that high on that list will be the name of Dick Giordano. Since 1951, Dick Giordano has worked his pencil and ink magic for a variety of publishers including Charlton Comics, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dell, American Comics, Valiant, Treasure Chest and Junior Life. In addition to his considerable freelance contributions, Giordano acted as Editor-In-Chief for Charlton Comics, during which he oversaw the creation of their most memorable characters including such classics as The Blue Beetle and Captain Atom. As Executive Editorial Director of DC Comics, Dick was the guiding force behind such award-winning series as Alan Moore’s WATCHMEN, Frank Miller’s DARK KNIGHT RETURNS and many, many more revolutionary concepts. His creative vision at DC Comics resulted in raising the bar for creativity throughout the entire comics industry. In recent years, Dick Giordano, along with creative partners Bob Layton and David Michelinie, formed FUTURE ENTERTAINMENT, a multi-media company.

Patrick Rothfuss: New York Times Best Selling Author Patrick Rothfuss is the writer of The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear. Mr. Rothfuss was the recipient of the 2007 “Quill Award”, the 2007 Best Book of the Year – FantasyLiterature.net, Publisher Weekly’s 2007 Best Book of the Year (Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror).

Michele Knotz: Anime Voice Acting Star, Michele Knotz is the voice of Team Rocket’s Jessie, Misty, May, and Nurse Joy in Pokémon. Michele is also one of the stars of Smash Bros. Brawl and Shootfighter Tekken.

Herb Trimpe: Legendary Comic Book artist Herb Trimpe is best known for his work at Marvel from the 1960′s to the 1990′s, including art for The Incredible Hulk (for which he enjoyed an eight-year run and is credited with the co-creation of Wolverine in Incredible Hulk #180 and 181), The Transformers, G.I. Joe, Shogun Warriors and Godzilla.

Pat Broderick: Legendary Comic Book artist and animator, Pat Broderick is an icon of the 70′s and 80′s comic book industry. Mr. Broderick has been the artist for Batman, Captain Marvel, Firestorm, Captain Atom, Detective Comics, Green Lantern, The Micronauts, Shazam, Alpha Flight and more! In addition to his comic book art, Mr. Broderick’s animation work includes concept design work for the Jimmy Neutron movie.

Allen Bellman: Golden Age Comic Book Legend. Artist of Captain America, The Patriot, Let’s Play Detective, Human Torch, Sub-Mariner and more! Mr. Bellman was the recipient of the 2007 San Diego Comic Con Inkpot Award.

Dana Snyder: Dana may be best known as the voice of Master Shake in the Adult Swim series Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but his extensive list of credits also includes Chowder (Gazpacho), The Venture Brothers (The Alchemist), Squidbillies (Granny), Minoriteam (Dr. Wang), Sealab 2021 and Robot Chicken. FSC will take up over 85,000 sq. feet of space at the convention center, which will include over 120 vendor booths (showcasing comic books, trade paperbacks, graphic novels, toys, anime, manga, clothing, accessories, DVD’s, CD’s, books, autographs and more!), a 9,000 sq. feet main events area, console gaming, LAN gaming, tabletop gaming, card gaming, panel rooms, anime viewing rooms and movie screening rooms.
