UK – Goblins! Signing

BRIAN FROUD signs GOBLINS! at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Thursday 3rd December from 6:00 – 7:00 PM!

The bestselling team of artist Brian Froud and scholar Ari Berk have continued their exploration of the goblin realm, with a new and noxious version of the world-famous Goblins. For the uninformed, goblins are those maleficent creatures who cause all manner of havoc in the human realm. Now, thanks largely to Froud’s and Berk’s continuing carelessness, the viscid and largely nonsensical NEW volume has been unleashed on an unsuspecting public.

Among its pages are new letters of apologies and disclaimers complete with new, never-before-seen goblin art; a list of Gargle’s new titles, grants, entitlements, and responsibilities; and, sadly, much more! Also included is an envelope containing a new talisman that is guaranteed to ward off goblins.

Brian Froud is an award-winning illustrator, author, and faery authority. With his wife, Wendy, he has written Brian Froud’s Faeries’ Tales and Trolls. He is also the author of The World of the Dark Crystal and The Goblins of Labyrinth. He lives in Devon, England.

BRIAN FROUD signs at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Thursday 13th September from 6 – 7pm.

Brian Froud’s TROLLS reveals the past, present and future of these magical creatures through images, tales, mythology and archaeology. It presents strong, individual, heroic characters and reveals troll philosophy and wisdom with contemporary relevance. Most important, Trolls is bound together with a compelling narrative: a central story that affirms that trolls are real; have lived and are living now. Trolls features new and classic 2D and 3D work by both Brian and Wendy that are woven together with troll “artifacts” and symbols and the natural world to create a fascinating revelation of the world of trolls. Brian’s images are deeply immersive, even cinematic at times; Trolls draws the viewer in the texture of the world and its stories characters born of lichened rocks, twisted trees, rainbowed waterfalls and shadowy thickets.

For over thirty years, Brian Froud has been regarded as the pre-eminent faerie artist in the world. His numerous international best-selling books are considered modern classics. He has worked with Jim Henson as conceptual designer on the feature films The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth as well as other Henson projects.
