EDEX Commissions Available for Boston Comic Con 2013

Artist Ed McGuinness (Nova, Hulk) and frequent collaborator Dexter Vines have opened a commission list for the upcoming Boston Comic Con on April 20-21, 2013! If you are interested in setting one up please contact their art rep Michael Alexander of More Great Art via the MGA website.
Commission rates are as follows:
1. Home cover quality single character: pencil $1,000 + $500 for Dexter Vines to ink.
2. Show prebooks single character: $500 pencil + $250 for Dex’s ink. These are available at all times and do not require attendance.
3. Cover recreations: please inquire.
4. Blank covers are: $100 for head, $200 torso, $300 full body. Show quality commission.
Green Ranger Morphs into Boston Comic Con 2013

Boston Comic Con welcomes Jason David Frank as a guest for the 2013 convention! Power Ranger fans can meet the actor for photos and autographs on April 20-21, 2013 at the Hynes Convention Center. It’s Morphin’ Time!
Jason David Frank holds the distinction of being featured in more Power Rangers episodes and full-length movies than any other actor in the show’s 20-year history. As Tommy Oliver, he appeared as the Mighty Morphin Green and White, Red Zeo, Red Turbo, and Black Dino Thunder Rangers.
A highly accomplished and widely respected martial artist in several different styles, Jason began his his full contact MMA career in 2006 and has won many competitions. Recently he broke a Guinness World Record by breaking seven boards while in free fall. Always an actor at heart, Jason has taken on several small and big screen roles with his most recent being The One Warrior.

Cosplayer Yaya Han Hosts Costume Contest at Boston Comic Con 2013

Boston Comic Con is happy to announce that cosplay favorite Yaya Han will appear at the 2013 convention and hosting the annual costume contest! Make sure you dress to impress!
Yaya Han is a costume designer, model and cosplay entertainer with 13 years of experience. After discovering cosplay at her first con over a decade ago, she quickly absorbed the heart and soul of costume design and creation. To this day Yaya has made 200 (and counting) costumes in the genres of anime/manga, comic books, video games, sci-fi and of course from her own original designs. Her intricate and lavish creations have won many awards and acclaim world wide, and Yaya has been featured in a myriad of magazines, websites, and television programming. Commercially, Yaya’s visage has been drawn, painted and sculpted by a number of noted professional artists and she enjoys modeling and collaborating with photographers and artists.
Additionally, Yaya has taught a multitude of panels on costume craftsmanship, presentation, makeup, wigs and more; and judged as well as hosted countless costume contests and performed in front of many peers and fans alike on stage. Over the past several years, Yaya has traveled to a long roster of conventions and events within the USA as well as internationally to Italy, Mexico, Canada, United Kingdom, Scotland, Japan, Costa Rica, Australia, Germany and Brazil as a Guest of Honor. Yaya is a strong advocate of preserving cosplay as an art form and encourages and mentors new cosplayers to improve their craftsmanship constantly. Bill Willingham, Steve Niles & More Guests Join Boston Comic Con 2013

Boston Comic Con is happy to announce that Bill Willingham, Mike Choi, Steve Niles, Eric Basaldua, and Joe Quinones are the latest additions for the 2013 show which will be held on April 20-21! Previously announced guests include George Pérez, Mike Mignola, Sergio Aragones, Amanda Conner, Mark Bagley, Don Rosa, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amy Reeder, and many more!
Eric Basaldua broke into comics in 2000 working for Top Cow Productions with founder Marc Silvestri. He has drawn many fan favorite titles including Hunter-Killer, Tomb Raider, The Darkness, Witchblade, and Grimm Fairy Tales. Most recently his sexy women have graced covers for Image, Marvel, Zenescope, and more.
Mike Choi is a comic book artist known for his work on books such as Witchblade, X-23, Uncanny X-Men, and X-Force. He has worked for Top Cow, Marvel, and DC Comics producing covers for many top selling titles, including Dark Avengers, Cloak and Dagger, Dark Wolverine, Green Lantern, Vampirella, Cyberforce / Hunter-Killer, and War of Kings.
Joe Quinones is a Boston local artist who is on the rise in comics. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, he worked on Teen Titans Go! before being hand-picked to draw the Green Lantern strip in Wednesday Comics. Recently his covers have graced titles for all the major companies including Hack/Slash, Star Wars: Knight Errant, and Amazing Spider-Man.
Steve Niles is a writer of comics, novels and films. Best known for works such as 30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre, Simon Dark, Mystery Society, and Batman: Gotham County Line, he is credited among other contemporary writers as bringing horror comics back to prominence. His currently working on Frankenstein: Alive! Alive! with Bernie Wrightson.
Bill Willingham is the creator of the immensely popular title Fables, a re-imagining of fairy tales characters in the modern world, as well as its spin-offs Jack of Fables and Fairest. His career began in the 80s writing and drawing Elementals for Comico. He has also written for several other titles including Robin, Shadowpact, Angel, Proposition Player, and Justice Society of America.

George Pérez Announced as First Guest for Boston Comic Con 2013

Legendary comic artist George Pérez confirmed on his Facebook page that he will appear at the Boston Comic Con next year on April 20-21, 2013! “I believe this will be my first Boston show in almost two decades, so it will be great to get back after so long,” said Pérez. He also mentioned that he will open a pre-con commission list in September, any collectors interested in getting a piece should follow his page for more details. The Boston Comic Con is excited to bring such a prolific artist back to the Bay State after a long hiatus to meet and greet his fans.
About George Pérez:
George Pérez has been a popular artist in the comic book industry since his first run on Avengers in the 70s. He went on to garner more acclaim working with writer Marv Wolfman on many seminal titles for DC Comics, particularly New Teen Titans and Crisis on Infinite Earths. Pérez later re-launched Wonder Woman as both artist and writer in a run which brought the character into new prominence. Known for his large layout featuring multiple characters, Pérez has drawn several important crossover events including Infinity Gauntlet, JLA/Avengers, and Infinite Crisis. Most recently he was the artist on Superman in DC’s New 52.

Super Inga Unleashed at Boston Comic Con 2012

Hot on the heels of the Terminal Press juggernaut ZombieBomb! , series co-creator Adam Miller and his team of zombie killers have joined up with Zombastic Productions, Inc. (DIE YOU ZOMBIE BASTARDS!) for the first issue of their latest cutting-edge series, ZombieBomb! Presents.
ZombieBomb Presents: The NEW Adventures of SUPER INGA spins out of the Zombastic universe established in DYZB! and burns rubber into an old-school Barbarella-style sci-fi romp. With tongue in cheek and swash firmly buckled, DYZB! co-creator Haig Demarjian helms the book as writer and artist with color by Spider-Man’s own Adam Street. This once-in-a-lifetime convergence of some of the most volatile talents in the movie and comic book worlds debuts exclusively at Boston Comic Con on April 21 and 22.
Visit the Zombastic/ZombieBomb! booth to meet ZB! co-creator Adam Miller and writer/illustrator Haig Demarjian. Members of team ZB! will coming from all over the galaxy to celebrate the event, and INGA herself will be in attendance!
In addition to meeting creators and picking up back issues from the entirety of ZB!’s historic run, fans can get their pictures taken with alt model and ZB! queen Sioux Murphy, and hear an exclusive Super Inga-themed track from Mexican Ape-Lord, the new project from members of the legendary Boston bands The Bags and Meliah Rage.
The first seventy-five lucky fans will be be able to purchase the very special Deluxe Premiere Edition of Super Inga, which includes:
