From Terry Allen:
Bob Larkin, whose done hundreds of paintings for Marvel, DC, Fleer and numerous others is in desperate need of help. Bob’s wife, Fran, has been battling various forms of cancer for the past 12 years and the endless medical bills has put an incredible financial strain on the family. Fran is currently recovering from her latest surgery and Bob has become her caregiver 24/7 leaving him unable to take on new work.
I’ve been working with Bob the past few years doing primarily Doc Savage based collectible items with the profits going to Bob and family. I’ve worked with Bob the past couple of years on a sketch book featuring Doc Savage as well as Batman, Stewie, the Shadow , and a whole host of others and it’s finally come back from the printers this week. The books are square bound, 8 ½ x 11″ 48 black and white pages and are individually signed and numbered by Bob.
The paperback edition is $20.00 (plus shipping) and there are two deluxe hard cover editions available that are in short supply.100% of the sales are going directly to the Larkins as well as anything else that might interest you on site.
STARWARP CONCEPTS AT NEW YORK COMIC CON 2010
Starwarp Concepts, publisher of the acclaimed Lorelei horror comic book series, re-launches in 2011 as a publisher and packager of dark-fantasy books and graphic novels for middle grade, young adult, and adult readers, with an emphasis on tales of urban fantasy and horror. And the 2010 New York Comic Con, held on October 8–10 at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, will be the place to find the latest information on our first releases!
The Starwarp Concepts booth, #554, is where you’ll find author Steven A. Roman (creator of Lorelei, and bestselling author of X-Men: The Chaos Engine Trilogy) and legendary painter Bob Larkin (cover artist of Doc Savage and Tomb of Dracula, among many others) promoting The Saga of Pandora Zwieback, a Young Adult dark urban-fantasy novel series about a teenaged Goth who teams up with an immortal shape-shifter named Sebastienne (Annie) Mazarin to hunt monsters. Blood Feud, the first novel in the series—in which Pan and Annie must contend with warring vampire clans attempting to unleash hell on earth—is scheduled for release on April 5, 2011.
On sale at the convention (while supplies last) will be full-color prints of Larkin’s cover paintings for the first three novels: Blood Feud, Blood Reign, and Stalkers. These paintings also serve as the basis for our eye-catching company banner—just look for the Goth girl being menaced by a werewolf and a vampiric Elegant Gothic Lolita!
Attendees are encouraged to stop by for our special giveaways (also while supplies last): Pandora Zwieback bookmarks, copies of our 2011 publishing catalog, and copies of The Saga of Pandora Zwieback #0—a full-color, 16-page comic in which Pan introduces you to her book series.
