February 10th, 2011 – Tampa Bay Comic Con returns to the Doubletree Hotel in Tampa, Florida! To ring in the celebration, Tampa Bay Comic Con has brought in fantastically talented guests of honor for the attendees to meet and greet at the upcoming convention on February 20th, 2011 at the Doubletree Hotel. Among the guests of honor is Mike Perkins, who is a comic book artist whose recent work includes the star-spangled war hero of World War II, Captain America! In addition, legendary artist Frank Brunner, who is renowned for his work on Marvel Comics’, Dr. Strange. Mid-Ohio Comic Con Launches 2010 Charity Auction on eBay

Columbus, OH – December 2, 2010 – Mid-Ohio Comic Con is pleased to announce the launch of its 2010 charity auction on eBay. The auction features original art and other creative work from the guests at this year’s 30th anniversary show, many of whom made incredibly generous contributions. Of particular note, the auction includes all the giant sketches (19″ x 24″) done by artists on the Main Stage easel during the show as well as other contributed work, including sketchbooks, posters, and comics.

Batman by Matt WagnerProceeds from the auction will go to benefit the Hero Initiative, a non-profit organization that creates a financial safety net for comic creators who need emergency medical aid, financial support for the essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. “We are big believers in the Hero Initiative and are very pleased to see such strong support of its cause from the comic creators who donated their work to this year’s auction,” said James Henry, Managing Director of Mid-Ohio Comic Con.

Columbus, OH – October 15, 2010 – Mid-Ohio-Con announced that acclaimed artist Arthur Suydam has joined the guest roster for Mid-Ohio-Con 2010. “We are very pleased to add Arthur to the Mid-Ohio-Con 2010 guest list. Arthur Suydam rose to super stardom with his work on the smash hit series Marvel Zombies, which broke graphic novel sales records and immediately established the artist as a comic legend. Michael Golden Print Exclusive at Wizard World Chicago

Exclusives Abound at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con! And for the first time EVER, Michael Golden’s artwork will be featured as part of the VIP Package for the premiere upcoming pop-culture event!

Wizard World Chicago Comic Con is the place to be to collect exclusive prints, books, die cast cars, toys and other items, as more than 30 different pieces will be available only at the event, August 19-22 at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

But this eye-catching Power Girl piece by the co-creator of X-Men’s Rogue, is available ONLY as part of the VIP exclusives. And it’s certainly no mystery why Mr. G. was picked as part of this special promotion for the show.

During his career, Golden has been an editor at DC Comics as well as senior art director at Marvel Comics, and has worked on numerous movie production projects, including some currently in development. His art has been the focus of gallery shows in places as diverse as New York, Gijon and Barcelona, Antwerp and Brussels, and his class on storytelling has been conducted in Spain, Brussels, Canada, and the United States.

In addition to his groundbreaking art on titles such as “The ‘Nam,” “Micronauts,”  “G.I. Joe Yearbook,” “The Avengers,” “Batman,” and “Dr. Strange,” Golden’s recent work can be seen on the covers of “Heroes for Hire,” “Exiles,” “Nightwing,” “Uncanny X-Men,” “Hulk Team-Up,” “Wonder Woman,” and  “Spiderman 1602,” among much more! Artist Steve Scott recently completed stints X-Men Forever, a Green Lantern special project and is currently working on a Batman story at DC Comics as well. At Wizard Chicago, Steve will be offering copies of his new sketchbook, “Steve Scott Sketches,” while supplies last, as well as some exclusive prints!
