NEW YORK and TORONTO, February 2, 2012 – A state-of-the-art downtown venue, new dates and fresh celebrity guests mark the third Wizard World Toronto Comic Con, which today announced its standout lineup scheduled to attend the event, April 14-15 at Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC). Popular screen stars Paul Wesley, Jeri Ryan, Scott Bakula and Amy Acker will be joined by WWE® Superstar Edge® and dozens of standout celebs and talented comic book artists and writers at the convention, which promises to be even bigger and better in 2012.

Shatner, whose most well-known credits include lead roles in “Star Trek,” “T.J. Hooker” and “Boston Legal,” will appear on Saturday, January 28, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Instantly recognizable to several generations of cult TV fans as the square-jawed Capt. James T. Kirk, commander of the starship USS Enterprise, Shatner went on to star in several feature films in the “Star Trek” franchise’s revival in the 1980′s. Top Comic Book Creators Headed to Morrisville’s NC Comicon Nov.5 and 6
Morrisville, NC — A host of legendary comic book creators, including Howard Chaykin, “Zombie King” Arthur Suydam and Ultimate Spider-Man artist David Lafuente in his only US appearance, will converge on Morrisville on Nov.5 and 6 for the second annual NC Comicon at the Morrisville Outlet Mall.
“Last year’s inaugural NC Comicon drew more than 2,500 attendees, and this one is poised to be even bigger,” says Alan Gill, owner of Durham’s Ultimate Comics, which is putting on the show. “Our goal is to create a fun, family-friendly two-day event that new and veteran comic fans can both enjoy as they meet pros, attend panels, and check out our art, gaming and costume contests!”
Along with the guests mentioned above, new attendees include Steve Niles (creator of the hit vampire comic and film 30 Days of Night) Mike Perkins (artist on Marvel Comics’ best-selling adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand), Janet Lee (artist of the award-winning graphic novel Return of the Dapper Men), Atomic Robo creators Scott Wegener and Brian Clevenger.
Other creators include Tommy Lee Edwards, artist of Image Comics’ Turf with talk show host Jonathan Ross and designer of the Denzel Washington film The Book of Eli; Jeremy Bastian, whose comic Cursed Pirate Girl has been featured on BoingBoing.net and raised more than $36,000 for a collected edition on Kickstarter.com; Skottie Young, artist of Marvel Comics’ award-winning adaptations of L. Among the other popular artists fans will want to meet are Jim Cheung (“Avengers,” “Uncanny X-Men”), Phil Jimenez (“Amazing Spider-Man,” “Astonishing X-Men”), Mike Grell (“Green Arrow,” “Green Lantern”) and Tom Raney (“Avengers Academy,” “Incredible Hulks”).
In all, more than 20 artists who have worked on the “Green Lantern” franchise are scheduled to appear, This Green Lantern Celebration includes such greats as Ethan Van Sciver, Tyler Kirkham and Shane Davis – perfect timing with the feature film releasing in theaters this weekend. Philadelphia Comic Con programming includes two “Green Lantern” themed panels as well as several “Wizard Art School” sessions featuring top creators and others highlighting various aspects of the industry.
Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, now in its 11th year, will bring together thousands of fans of all ages and dozens of celebrities and industry professionals to celebrate the best in pop culture, movies, comics, toys, video gaming, television, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more. Among the most popular celebrities scheduled to attend are Bruce Campbell, Adam Baldwin, Bill Goldberg, Pam Grier, Vivica A. Fox, Julie Benz and Billy Dee Williams.
Philadelphia Comic Con is the sixth stop on Wizard World’s 2011 North American tour. Hours are Friday, noon – 8 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets are available in advance online at http://www.wizardworld.com/philadelphia.html at a savings over tickets purchased at the door. NEW YORK, April 2011 – Wizard World Big Apple Comic Con ‘Spring Edition,’ part of North America’s largest pop-culture tour, is set for Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, at the Penn Plaza Pavilion in Manhattan. The event, the largest and longest-running Comic Con in New York, will bring together thousands of fans of all ages and plenty of celebrities and industry professionals to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, comics, toys, video gaming, television, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more.
James Marsters, who played “Spike” on “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer,” Tom Felton, best known for playing the role of “Draco Malfoy” in the HARRY POTTER film series, Morena Baccarin, who starred as “Inara Serra” in the sci-fi television series “Firefly,” “Adria” in “Stargate SG-1,” and as “Anna” in “V,” and Kristanna Loken, whose credits include TERMINATOR 3, “Painkiller Jane,” and “The L Word,” are the headline celebrities scheduled to attend. “Response to the Big Apple Comic Con shows the past two years was so strong that we had to add the Spring event,” said Gareb Shamus, CEO, Wizard World. “Everyone – the celebrities, the fans, the dealers, manufacturers, artists, and the entire community we deal with was begging us to bring a huge Spring Comic Con to New York.”
Fans can also meet their favorite comic creators and artists, including Arthur Suydam (“Marvel Zombies,” “Batman”), Greg Horn (“Blackest Night,” “Elektra,” “Ms. Marvel”), Mike Grell (“Green Arrow,” “Green Lantern”), Jerry Robinson (“The Joker,” “Robin”), Matt Kindt (“Revolver,” “Pistolwhip”), Jim Cheung (“Avengers,” “Uncanny X-Men”), Kaare Andrews (Astonishing XMen,” “Iron Man”), Christos Gage (“X-Men,” “Spider-Man”), Phil Ortiz (“The Simpsons,” “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”), Ryan Ottley (“Invincible,” “The Walking Dead”) and many other national and local creators. There will also be a special appearance all the way from Brazil, making a rare U.S. appearance, by Luke Ross (“Captain America,” “Amazing Spider-Man”).
Other celebrities set to be on hand include Tony Award winner Dan Fogler (“Balls of Fury,” “Good Luck Chuck”), Bonnie Piesse (STAR WARS: EPISODE III – REVENGE OF THE SITH, STAR WARS: EPISODE II – ATTACK OF THE CLONES) and Chandler Riggs (“The Walking Dead”).
Children and adult attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite villain, superhero or pop culture personality for the chance to win special prizes in costume contests. Event-goers may also try their hand interactive product exhibits and shop for collectible comics, movie and television memorabilia, toys and games at more than 200 dealer booths.
Special events at Big Apple Comic Con include the TCG Gaming tournament, professional photo opportunities (Photo Ops) with celebrities and others to be announced.
The Penn Plaza Pavilion is located at 401 Seventh Avenue at 33rd St., in the historic Hotel Pennsylvania. Big Apple Comic Con Spring Edition is the fifth stop on Wizard World’s 13-city 2011 North American tour. Hours are Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 22, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
