I’ve had the hardest time keeping an upcoming event to myself. After you hear about it, you’ll understand why.
Next week I’ll be interviewing director Spike Jonze and the filmmaking team behind Where the Wild Things Are. The event takes place Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. at the SoHo Apple Store. It should be magical!
Obviously, we’ll be discussing the movie and how Jonze and his team adapted Maurice Sendak’s beloved children’s book. We’ll also be taking questions from the crowd.
The interview will be recorded and posted online for those of you who can’t make it. If you have a question you’d like me to ask Jonze or his crew, suggest it via the comments, e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Twitter.
The event is free and no tickets are required, though I’d suggest you arrive early. If you do come, please say hello afterward — I’d love to meet you!

From Whitney Matheson’s PopCandy blog:
This week I hope NYC-based readers will join me on Sept. 2nd for a cool event at the Apple Store in SoHo: I’ll be chatting with director Mike Judge about his new movie, Extract, and we’ll be watching several scenes from the film.
I’m a longtime fan of Judge’s work, so expect a few questions about Office Space and Beavis and Butt-Head as well. Also, as you may know, King of the Hill ends its 13-season run Sept. 13.
If you have any questions for Mike, let me know, and I’ll try to fit ‘em in. (He’ll also be taking questions from the audience, which should be fun.)
The event starts at 7 p.m., and the Apple Store is located at 103 Prince St.
