The cast and producers of AMC’s The Walking Dead will participate in an hour-long panel at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, CA. Moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, The Walking Dead panelists will discuss what fans can expect in the highly anticipated fourth season, which debuts in October.
The Walking Dead panelists include Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, David Morrissey, Chad Coleman, Scott Wilson, Executive Producer and Showrunner Scott Gimple, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, Executive Producer David Alpert and Executive Producer and Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero.
In addition, fans this year are invited to participate in the second annual The Walking Dead Escape, a zombie obstacle course at Petco Park during Comic-Con weekend. The course is open Jul. 19 & 20 from 5PM to 10PM PT and allows survivors to climb, crawl and slide as part of the adventure and to also avoid confrontation by hordes of walkers.

AMC JOINS FORCES WITH SKYBOUND AND RUCKUS SPORTS FOR THE WALKING DEAD ESCAPE
ONE-OF-A-KIND ZOMBIE OBSTACLE COURSE BASED ON THE NETWORK’S DRAMA SERIES AND ROBERT KIRKMAN’S COMIC BOOK SERIES COMES TO SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2013
(BOSTON, MA) – July 2, 2013 – AMC announced today it has joined forces with Skybound, Robert Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics, and Ruckus Sports for the second annual The Walking Dead Escape (www.thewalkingdeadescape.com), a zombie obstacle course at Petco Park during Comic-Con weekend in San Diego, July 19th and 20th. Last year, Skybound and Ruckus Sports brought the first The Walking Dead Escape to San Diego during the 2012 Comic-Con weekend. The Walking Dead Escape allows fans to live out the events from the groundbreaking, Emmy-award winning and top-rated AMC series, which is based on Robert Kirkman’s Eisner Award-winning best selling The Walking Dead graphic novels.
The course is open July 19 & 20 from 5:00 – 10:00 pm where Survivors can climb, crawl and slide as part of the adventure and to also avoid confrontation by hordes of Walkers. The Walking Dead Escape is not a race and Survivors are not timed. The goal is for the Survivors to reach the decontamination zone where their level of infection – if any – is determined by a confidential military scan. Walkers are transformed into the undead by professional makeup teams and released on the course to haunt the living. In addition, participants and spectators alike can immerse themselves in The Walking Dead Fan Festival, an interactive “after party” featuring games, food, and merchandise from all facets of The Walking Dead universe.

Fans may choose among three ways to participate in this epic adventure; as a “Survivor” racing through the zombie-infested evacuation zone with familiar scenes and props from the show and comic book series; as a “Walker” in the undead horde or as a “Spectator” watching the apocalypse from sidelines at the Escape Party.

Today AMC revealed The Walking Dead Season 4 banner that will be displayed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The banner depicts Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) raising their signature weapons before a herd of walkers, while characters Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) fight off walkers to the left and right, respectively.

Writer Robert Kirkman and artist Ryan Ottley sign at Earth-2 Comics in Sherman Oaks on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from noon until 3:00 pm. They are appearing to both celebrate the 100th issue of their comic Invincible and commemorate Earth-2’s 10th anniversary. Kirkman is also the co-creator of the zombie comic The Walking Dead and executive producer of the AMC show.

The Golden Globe-nominated, Emmy Award-winning, series “The Walking Dead” is based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. The series tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. “The Walking Dead” is the number-one drama series in basic cable history for adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.
Universal Studios’ Halloween creative teams are working with AMC and “The Walking Dead,” to create an authentic experience that is true to the Emmy Award-winning hit series. The haunted mazes on both coasts feature eerily authentic, elaborately designed, movie-quality sets that include some of the most iconic locations and scenes from the show. Mobs of undead walkers bring to “life” the vicious, hungry, zombies from the show.
