Writer Fabian Nicieza co-creator of Deadpool, Domino, X-Force, and a host of other comic characters, appears at Sleeping Giant Collectibles on Saturday, June 9th from 11:00 AM till 5:00 PM for his first-ever appearance in the Buffalo area. All attendees will receive a free Deadpool comic while supplies last.

A fee will apply for Nicieza signatures, which can also be ordered online. Certificates of Authenticity will be available, as will CGC witnessing.

It’s true!  The busiest man in comics is taking some time out to meet his fans at Graham Crackers Comics of Chicago!  Jim Lee will be appearing for one evening only at our Chicago LOOP location (77 E. Madison) – in fact he will be visiting on NEW COMICS DAY (Wednesday April 4th 2018) from 6pm – 9pm to help promote DC COMICS NEW AGE OF HEROES line!

Wednesday April 11th is the day the IMMORTAL MEN #1 from the new age of heroes line premieres with artwork by Jim Lee (of course)!  We will have the book on hand so you can get yours signed!  Due to the overwhelming demand and how rare it is for Jim to be able to step away from his already hectic schedule helping run DC COMICS – we are selling tickets to make sure that the people that want to meet Jim get a chance to, here’s how it works:

  • The tickets cost $10.98 and gets you
  • Immortal Men #1 ($2.99 cover price – due out 4/11/18) – signed by Jim Lee in front of you!
  • Action Comics #1000 ($7.99 cover price – due out 4/18/18) – featuring cover by Jim Lee and interior artwork by Jim Lee with Brian Michael Bendis 1st new DC Comics work!

WY – Moana/Big Hero 6 Screening + Q&A

Steven T. Seagle and Jared Bush appear as part of the 33rd Annual Casper College Humanities Festival and Demorest Lecture, all ages are invited to Family Movie Night at the Natrona County Library on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:30 PM. This month the Library will feature back-to-back movies and a Q&A panel led by Steven T. Seagle and Jared Bush.

The first film, Moana, starts at 4:00 PM. Set in Ancient Polynesia, when a terrible curse incurred by the demigod Maui reaches Moana’s island, she answers the Ocean’s call to seek out the Demigod to set things right.

At 5:45PM Steven T. Seagle and Jared Bush will discuss their work with pizza provided by the Friends of the Library at no cost. Following the panel discussion, the second film, Big Hero 6, will be shown at 6:30 PM. Plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax and prodigy Hiro Hamada team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes. Steven T. Seagle is a co-founder of the bi-coastal collective Man of Action Entertainment, creators of the global franchise Ben 10 on Cartoon Network, with Seagle as an executive producer and story editor, and Big Hero 6, for which he co-created the original team and characters featured in Disney/Marvel’s Academy Award®-winning feature.

Jared Bush is a director and screenwriter at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He served as co-director and co-screenwriter of the Oscar®-winning feature Zootopia as well as screenwriter of the Oscar®-nominated feature Moana. Bush is also a member of the Walt Disney Animation Studios Story Trust team, a group of directors and writers who help develop every studio feature, including Oscar winners Big Hero 6 and Frozen.

NJ – Dread Gods Signing

Artist Tom Raney appears at Dewey’s Comic City on Saturday, August 12th 1:00 – 3:00 PM to sign DREAD GODS from IDW Publishing!

Veteran comic book artist Tom Raney will be on hand sketching, meeting fans and signing copies of his current project DREAD GODS from Ominous Press! In addition Tom will be selling prints and original art as well as accepting commissions.

Tom’s most recent work is on DREAD GODS, the first limited series from Ominous Press (published through IDW), a series set in a science-fiction/fantasy universe of epic heroes and insidious villains. In DREAD GODS, gods in a fantasy world discover they’re actually monsters in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Issue #1 is currently in stock and available for purchase and issue #2 should be out by his appearance.

Tom’s long list of credits include work on Annihilation Conquest, Alpha Flight, Avengers Academy, Ultimate X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men for Marvel Comics, DV8, and Stormwatch for Image Comics, and Outsiders for DC Comics. Raney’s first paid work was Forgotten Realms for DC Comics. He is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School in Dover, NJ.
