50 Years of GI Joe – the first action figure – A history of GI Joe, the world’s first action figure, from its beginnings 50 years ago in 1964, to the present day. About This Convention
The Free State Comicon is an “old-fashioned” comic book convention, primarily focused on comic books, those who write, draw, and otherwise create comic books. The show is interested in fostering the many newer artists and writers who self-produce, self-publish, or create webcomics, and of course the rich body of talent that is the Kansas City comic book creator community.
