About Ivy Doomkitty:
Ivy Doomkitty is an International Costume Designer/Cosplayer, Host, Artist, Gamer, and Figure Model for comic book artist/writer, Frank Cho, based in Los Angeles. Ivy has been attending conventions for many years, before deciding to take the plunge by showing her fandom through cosplay.

She now uses this new found passion to create her own costumes and use them to bring to life her favorite characters from gaming and comics as well as creating a positive impact in the cosplay community. She strives to show others in the community that you can do something you love, regardless of gender, skin color, sexual orientation, body shape/size, etc.

Ivy was recently the Featured Cosplayer on the Premier Episode of the webseries, “Cospladies”, a short documentary on the trials, tribulations, and love of cosplay. Ivy is also a member of the West Coast Avengers/Avengers Initiative, taking part in charity events in Southern California.

Ivy heavily promotes the art of Cosplay at every convention that she is a guest at, including participating in panels, judging the costume contest, and meeting many fans that are interested in starting in the craft. In the past, she has interviewed some incredible talent, including Stan Lee, Lou Ferrigno, Arthur Suydam, Michael Golden, and more. She has also written comic book reviews, in addition to presenting and hosting costume contests. Hero Initiative hits MegaCon 2014 with Herb Trimpe!

Hero Initiative hits Orlando MegaCon with original Wolverine artist Herb Trimpe!

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 10, 2014) Hero Initiative, the non-profit that aids comic veterans in medical and financial need, will hit the Orlando MegaCon from March 21-23 at the Orange County Convention center in Orlando, Fla. And Hero will be the ONLY place to see the ORIGINAL Wolverine artist, Herb Trimpe! Make sure you stop by booth #733 to meet Herb!

In addition, artist George Pérez will be at his own booth, #417 on the floor, signing books and doing sketches for benefit of Hero Initiative all weekend. Make sure you swing by on the nicest man in comics!

Meanwhile, back at the Hero booth, fan-favorite Wolverine and Incredible Hulk artist Adam Kubert will make an appearance Saturday from 1230-130 p.m. Adam will be doing only TWO convention sketches all weekend, and they’ll be done at the Hero booth for Hero Initiative! Archie Comics’ Dan Parent Comes to Boston Comic Con 2014

Archie Comics writer and artist DAN PARENT makes his first appearance at Boston Comic Con for this year’s show!  A graduate of the Kubert School, Dan began working for Archie immediately after graduation. One of the most popular and prolific creators on the Archie roster, Dan is best known for creating the Riverdale gang’s first openly gay character, Kevin Keller. He has also worked on notable storylines including Archie’s first interracial romance with Valerie (of the Pussycats), and guest appearances by Barack Obama, KISS, George Takei, and the cast of Glee.

Firefly’s Jewel Staite Comes to Boston Comic Con 2014

Boston Comic Con is excited to welcome JEWEL STAITE to our 2014 convention n August 8th – 10th! Jewel Staite is best known for playing Kaylee Frye, the cheerful ship’s mechanic, on Joss Whedon’s beloved space western series Firefly. Jewel made her feature film debut reprising the role in 2005′s Serenity. Since then she has gone on to portray Dr. Jennifer Keller on Syfy’s Stargate: Atlantis alongside fellow Boston Comic Con guest Jason Momoa. Jewel has also held roles on series including The Killing, State of Syn, Animism, The L.A. Khal Drogo Appears at Boston Comic Con 2014

JASON MOMOA, star of Game of Thrones and Conan the Barbarian, joins Boston Comic Con in 2014 along with superstar comic legend ADAM KUBERT.

Jason Momoa is best known as Khal Drogo, the Dothraki warlord from HBO’s megahit Games of Thrones. Jason also played the title role of Conan the Barbarian in the latest feature film adaptation of the swords and sorcery classic, and starred in Stargate Atlantis for several seasons. Jason is also rumored to have a major role in the upcoming Superman vs. Batman movie. Currently he plays the lead character on the crime drama Red Road which premieres in February 2014 on the Sundance Channel.

Adam Kubert is a comic artist best known for his work with Marvel Comics on Wolverine, Incredible Hulk, Ultimate Fantastic Four, and X-Men. Son of Golden Age legend Joe Kubert, with whom Adam collaborated on the Sgt. Rock strip in Wednesday Comics, Adam is both a graduate of and instructor at the famed Kubert School. Most recently Adam worked on Marvel’s Avengers vs. X-Men and Infinity crossovers and this past week released the highly anticipated Origin II, which further expands on Wolverine’s early days.

Hero Initiative Schedule for NYCC 2013

Hero Initiative is traveling to the Big Apple to attend New York Comic Con at the Javits Center, October 10th-13th. Hero has a whole lot going on throughout the city to raise money for comic creators in medical and financial need.

Anchoring our booth throughout the weekend is artist Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead). Charlie is journeying all the way from the UK to herald the release of The Walking Dead 100 Project. Make sure you get to the Hero Initiative booth, #1759, to get your copy and signature from Charlie!

In addition, Hero is the ONLY place to find the legendary Golden Age Superman artist Al Plastino. Make sure you come by from 1-7 p.m. on Friday ONLY to meet the man himself!

Hero Initiative is working after hours both Friday and Saturday nights so YOU can party! On Friday October 11th, Image Comics and Multiversity Comics team up to bring you THE BIG NYCC Party to help raise money for Hero Initiative. Free Comic Book Day 2013 is just around the corner and Cards, Comics & Collectibles – Baltimore’s Premiere Comic Book Store and the Official News Source of the Baltimore Comic-Con – is pulling out all of the stops for this year’s event! Everyone has been wondering what we were going to do and we’re finally ready to announce it! This is the one you’ve been waiting for!

The full-day event kicks off with an awesome line-up of creators appearing at the store! Adam Kubert, Frank Cho, and Steve Conley will be all signing and sketching at the store throughout the day.

Legendary Marvel and DC Comics artist Adam Kubert, whose most recent work includes Marvel’s Avengers vs. X-Men event and the recently launched Avengers series, will be signing and sketching from 12:00pm – 2:30pm, and again from 3:30pm – 6:00pm. He is the featured artist in DC’s Free Comic Book Day 2013 issue, Superman: The Last Son of Krypton #1.

The son of comics legend, Joe Kubert, Adam started his illustrious career in comics in 1993 drawing Wolverine for Marvel Comics. He was a mainstay at Marvel, working on such titles as X-Men, Ultimate X-Men, and Ultimate Fantastic Four, until 2005 when he signed an exclusive contract with DC Comics. While there, he served as artist on Action Comics, DC Universe: Last Will and Testament, and Batman and The Outsiders Special. In 2009, he returned to Marvel where he remains today.

Frank Cho’s body of work at Marvel includes such titles as New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Shanna the She-Devil, New Ultimates, X-Men: Schism, and Avengers vs. X-Men. He is also well-known for his creator-owned series, Liberty Meadows, and his work on Jungle Girl for Dynamite Entertainment. Cho, who is currently writing and drawing Savage Wolverine, will be signing and sketching from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.

Award-winning designer, illustrator, and cartoonist Steve Conley has worked on such notable comics as Star Trek: Year Four (IDW), Michael Chabon’s Amazing Adventures of the Escapist (Dark Horse Comics), and JLA-Z (DC Comics). Conley, who is also the creator of Astounding Space Thrills and the all-ages series Bloop (www.bloopstree.com), will be signing and sketching all day.

In addition to the creator line-up, Baltimore’s Z104.3 will be setting up and broadcasting live at the store. Fans can sign up to win a pair of tickets to the Z104.3 screening of Iron Man 3 at the Rotunda Movie Theatre which will be drawn every 15 minutes! Carnival games and an all-ages obstacle course will also be set up for fans to win CDs, movie passes, and items from the movie!
