Steve Niles Appears in Pittsburgh, Local Model featured on Exclusive cover.
On June 17-18th, New Dimension Comics will host comic book writer and 30 Days of Night creator Steve Niles for a special signing at both their Cranberry Township and West Mifflin Century III Mall locations. The signing event is in celebration of the release of Niles ‘ new project, The Mystery Society #1, already sold out of it’s 1st printing. New Dimension Comics has commissioned a special limited edition of 1000 copies of this new title as an exclusive version available only at their stores. Normally $11.99, they will be on sale during these events for just $8. Also on special during these events will be the first volume of the 30 Days of Night Collected Edition, normally $17.99, for just $10. Of course, Steve Niles will autograph these or any of his other works for free. New Dimension Comics will provide certificates to authenticate these signatures upon request.
While Steve Niles is best known for his comic-turned-film creation 30 Days of Night, he is a prolific comic book writer whose credits include Batman: Gotham After Midnight, Simon Dark for DC’s Vertigo Comics, Dawn of the Dead, and many other horror oriented comics. His adaptations include works by Clive Barker, Richard Matheson and Harlan Ellison. A full list of his works can be seen at www.steveniles.com.

“Having worked with us on other projects, she was a natural fit for the style and theme of this new release. Once the photo hit the publisher and Steve, everyone was thrilled and it took off from there,” says Todd McDevitt, owner of the 5-store chain of comic stores. “It has even lead to another project with her for later in the summer… ANOTHER photo cover that we will be sponsoring.”
Niles appears at the Cranberry Township (20550 Rt. 19) location for a special after hours event June 17th from 9-10 PM and then in West Mifflin ‘s Century III Mall New Dimension Comics on June 18th from 4-7 and then. Choker Creators Coast-to-Coast Tour

Comic artist Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night, Fell) and writer Ben McCool are on tour to promote their new title, Choker. Templesmith writes on his blog, ”This year, you pretty much won’t be able to escape me. (Sorry.) In addition to all these dates for CHOKER #1 and #2, I’ll also be around Chicago for C2E2 as well as NYCC and Heroes Con down in North Carolina. And of course, the big one, SDCC.” He goes on to say that McCool will be on hand for several of the appearances as well. There’s a guarantee of at least one Ben per signing!
Larry’s Comics in Lowell, MA commissioned an exclusive variant cover of the first issue (pictured at right). It has been delayed because of a printing error but New England fans should be on the lookout for it to get signed at Templesmith’s appearance at Boston Comic Con in April.
