Pat Mills and Kevin O’Neill sign at Gosh Comics on Saturday the 20th of April from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm!
Press Release:
It’s been a long time coming, this one. Since it began in 1987 Pat Mills and Kevin O’Neill’s superhero satire Marshal Law has been through a string of publishers before finally finding a home at DC Comics. And for the last few years the Marshal Law omnibus has been promised, denied, and now that it’s finally coming out there are still some sad voices on the internet who don’t believe it. It’s happening, dudes. Marshal Law: The Deluxe Edition – collecting the original series plus Fear and Loathing, Takes Manhattan, Kingdom of the Blind, The Hateful Dead, Super Babylon and Secret Tribunal – is coming! And as soon as it gets here we are having a signing with Mills and O’Neill to celebrate.

UK – Halo Jones Signing

Ian Gibson signs at Gosh Comics on Saturday the 27th of April from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm!
Press Release:
Alan Moore and Ian Gibson’s classic 2000 AD saga Halo Jones is coming out in a brand new edition complete with a swanky new cover! We thought we’d welcome her back to our shelves by hosting a signing with the man who drew Halo and her universe for the very first time back in 1984. British comics legend Gibson will be at our hallowed table signing for two whole hours on Saturday the 27th of April from 2pm until 4pm so now’s your chance to get your new Halo scribbled in, or even your battered old ones (although you’ll be missing out on the new introduction by Fairest writer, Lauren Beukes).
Halo was one of the first feminist heroines of comics, a 50th-century everywoman whose story was not the testosterone-fueled story that 2000 AD readers were used to but something else altogether. Says Beukes: “She’s remarkable for being just a girl caught up in extraordinary circumstances. Halo is working class, she doesn’t have any superpowers, in her own words, she was ‘just there’… It’s a story about choices and compromises, about defying expectations, about poverty, society, celebrity, identity, the toll of war, and also love, ambition, ambivalence and the places restless curiosity will take you.” Our pals at Forbidden Planet International have put the whole first chapter online. Head to their excellent blog and have a read.
Gibson is not only known for Halo Jones but Robo-Hunter, Judge Dredd, Ace Trucking Co. and more (and we’re not putting any restrictions on this signing so feel free to bring along your favourites). The new edition of Halo Jones is £13.99 and we’ll have plenty of copies available on the day. However! If reserving a copy will help you sleep at night, send us an email to info@goshlondon.com. We can also sort you out with a signed copy if you can’t make it on the day or happen to live on the other side of the world.

Brian Bolland signs at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Saturday 12th January from 3 – 4pm!
Mega-City One, 2099. This vast urban nightmare has sprung up from the post-apocalyptic ashes of North America’s east coast. Each of the 400 million citizens based there is a potential criminal and only the Judges can prevent total anarchy. These future lawmen are judge, jury, and executioner. Toughest of them all is Judge Dredd – he is the Law!
By the end of 1977 Brian Bolland was regularly handling art chores for John Wagner’s scripts on Judge Dredd. All told, he illustrated 19 stories. Judge Dredd: The Complete Brian Bolland collects these stories in oversized format, featuring meticulous modern coloring by Charlie Kirchoff.
Brian Bolland has earned a reputation as one of the best cover artists in the industry, and his elegantly composed and beautifully rendered pieces have graced a host of titles, including ANIMAL MAN, BATMAN, THE FLASH, THE INVISIBLES, WONDER WOMAN and many more. He’s also the designer of our legendary ‘People Like Us’ t-shirts.

Pat Mills & Simon Bisley sign the new hardcover of the classic SLAINE THE HORNED GOD (2000AD) at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Saturday 23rd June 1 – 2pm.
The warrior barbarian Slaine, master of the warp spasm, wielder of the mighty axe Brainbiter, Celtic warrior king – faces his greatest challenge: the existence of his world is at stake as he prepares to follow the ways of the Horned God. It is a path that can give him control over nature itself or unleash a new age of witchcraft and dark forces.
Pat Mills is one of the founding fathers of 2000AD and one of the most respected comic book writers around. He’s created some of the longest-running characters for the title such as Slaine, ABC Warriors, and Nemesis The Warlock. His other work includes writing and developing Judge Dredd and Charley’s War.
Simon Bisley is best known for his work on ABC Warriors, Lobo, Slaine, and for his current work on Hellblazer. He was also the inpsiration for Simon Pegg’s character graphic artist Tim Bisley in the sitcom Spaced.

PAT MILLS signs at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Saturday 10th September 1 – 2pm.
Think that a meteorite collision with our planet was responsible for making the dinosaurs become extinct? Wrong! By the 23rd Century, man has drained the planet’s resources bare, but thanks to time-travel technology, the Trans-Time Corporation send rangers – such as cowboy Earl Reagan – to the days when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. The rangers round up these magnificent creatures and get real flesh back on the menu!
Pat Mills is usually described – quite correctly – as ‘the godfather of British comics’. His work includes Charley’s War, Vampire Knight and Marshall Law as well as ABC Warriors, Slaine, Nemesis The Warlock and a host of others for 2000AD.

UK – FVZA Signing

David Hine signs on Thursday September 2nd from 6 – 7pm.
Forbidden Planet is pleased to announce a signing by DAVID HINE. He will be signing FVZA: THE FEDERAL VAMPIRE AND ZOMBIE AGENCY at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Thursday 2nd September from 6 – 7pm.
Landra always knew that Vampires and Zombies were real. Trained to fight since childhood by her grandfather, legendary Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency operative Hugo Pecos, she was ready. Even though both viruses were – apparently – eradicated and the F.V.Z.A. officially disbanded, Landra knew they would be back. Little did she realise that when the Vampires did come out of hiding they would use a deadly new weapon – an incurable strain of the zombie virus. Now Picos and Landra (along with her brother Vidal) have been tasked to re-instate the agency and train a new batch of operatives to target the most dangerous Vampire they’ve ever known – Landra and Vidal’s own grandmother!
David Hine has been working in comics since the 1980s, working on everything from 2000AD to Image Comics’ Spawn to TokyoPop titles to Marvel’s X-Men. As well as the back-and-white horror comic Strange Embrace, he’s probably best-known for Silent War, a six-issue mini-series with art by Frazer Irving. More recently, he’s written the Arkham Asylum one-shot for the Batman” Battle for the Cowl event – which, in turn, created the mini-series Arkham Reborn.
