Adam Baldwin appears at Krypton Comics on Saturday May 5, 2012 for Free Comic Book Day!

Adam Baldwin is an American actor known for his roles as Animal Mother in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket, Ricky Linderman in My Bodyguard, Knowle Rohrer in The X-Files, and Marcus Hamilton in Joss Whedon’s Angel. He also established a cult following as Jayne Cobb in the series Firefly, the movie Serenity and for starring as Chad Shelten in Day Break. His most recent TV role is as John Casey on the NBC comedy-spy series Chuck. The show premiered September 24, 2007.

Appearing in dozens of films since 1980, Baldwin rose to prominence as the troubled outcast Ricky Linderman in My Bodyguard (1980) and moved on to bigger roles in D.C. Cab (1983), Full Metal Jacket (1987), Predator 2 (1990), Independence Day (1996), The Patriot (2000) and Serenity (2005)—in which he reprises his role as the mercenary Jayne Cobb from the television series Firefly. His other work includes Radio Flyer (1992), From the Earth to the Moon (1998), The X-Files (Knowle Rohrer), Smoke Jumpers (1996), The Cape, Men in Black: The Series, Stargate SG-1, Angel, The Inside, NCIS and the 2005 remake of The Poseidon Adventure. He also starred in the ABC series Day Break as Chad Shelten in 2006. Baldwin parodied the Ricky Linderman character in the 2008 film Drillbit Taylor.

Baldwin won a SyFy Genre Award in 2006 for Best Supporting Actor/Television for his role as Jayne Cobb in the television series Firefly.

Baldwin was cast as Clark Kent/Superman in the first DC animated universe movie, Superman: Doomsday, based on DC Comics’ The Death of Superman!

Baldwin has a role as a voice actor in the Xbox 360 games Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, the latter putting him in the role of Cpl. Taylor “Dutch” Miles.

Baldwin also appears as a voice actor in Half Life 2: Episode 2 for various resistance soldiers and citizens. Adam also appeared in Mass Effect 2, playing the role of Quarian marine Kal’Reegar.

There it is, Browncoats! The man known as “Jayne” from the Firefly series. The voice of a Superman!

NE – Free Comic Book Day 2011

Helen Slater who portrayed Supergirl in the movie will be on hand to sign autographs for fans on May 7, 2011 for ??FCBD?.

There will be two entrances to Krypton Saturday. We will have a signed entrance for the line for HELEN SLATER and a separate entrance (our regular one) for free comics or if you just want to shop! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT IN HELEN SLATER’S LINE TO GET FREE COMICS!

Ms. Slater’s autograph will cost $25 each. Feel free to bring in your own items to have signed for the same price.

Brook Turner - Image comics artist of the fan favorite Golly.

Bruce McCorkindale - Comic book artist and creator. His most recent projects include Godzilla Monster War, The Jack Kirby Collector #54, Golly from Image, Negative Burn, Rune Vs. Venom, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Max Riffner - Comic creator, graphic designer, and winner of the Isotope Award. His works include Drunk Elephant Comics, Lydia, and Quick Step.

Rick Hiltbrunner - Comic book artist and creator. His projects include Iron Ghost, Archenemies and Golly.

Fredd Gorham - Artist whose projects include Steel Angel, 365 Days of Drawing, and he is the creator of the Krypton Comics Artist Jam.

Doug McCoy - Inker on ShadowLands and winner of the Create a Krypton Comics Mascot contest.

Tracie Mauk - Talented local artist. Tracie will be on hand to sketch for fans.

Jon Riggle - Specializes in trading card art.

Louis Simpson - Teaches a class on how to draw comics at a local college.

Don’t forget, as in years past, Krypton will be guarded on FCBD by the fearsome stormtroopers of the 501st Legion!

RAY PARK of Star Wars, G.I. Joe, X-Men and Heroes fame will be our guest of honor for FCBD! The calls have already started and everyone (including us) seems really pumped! We have pricing info on autographs. $30 will get you the John Hancock of Mr. Ray Park! A nice thing that Mr. Park has agreed to is he will take photos with customers at no extra charge as long as an autograph is purchased. $30 gets your item signed or you can buy one of Mr. Park’s fantastic photos. We spoke with Mr. Park this weekend at C2E2 and he is excited about meeting his fans in Omaha!

CYNTHIA MARTIN, Star Wars artist for the Marvel series has agreed (after much pleading) to be our special comic book guest! She is one of the nicest people in the comic business and does fantastic sketches! Cynthia has created a fantastic Darth Maul sketch available at Krypton on FCBD!

ANOTHER GREAT ARTIST SIGNS AT FCBD:
Brook Turner, an Image comics artist of the fan favorite “GOLLY” will also appear at FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!  We have seen Brook go from an artist with a dream to an artist with a job! Our buddy Phil Hester took Brook under his wing, saw his talent and now BAM! the rest is history! Great to have you and looking forward to seeing you!
