Pose with Gigantic Blowups of Teen Titans Go!’s Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven, Robin and Starfire; Explore Life-Size LEGO® Model of The Hobbit Trilogy’s Bag End and Characters; Check Out Life-Size LEGO® Models of DC Comics’ Batman, Robin and The Joker; and Hitch a Ride with the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo
BURBANK, Calif. (July 16, 2013) — Warner Bros. Entertainment takes over the grounds at San Diego’s Bayfront Park throughout Comic-Con International: San Diego 2013 to prove the pop culture convention isn’t just for big kids — there’s tons of family fun to be had (for free!) with wee ones, too. Popping up a colorful assortment of characters and replicas from Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Bros. Pictures, the free and fun “Lawn Con” — located just steps from the convention floor, between the San Diego Convention Center and the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel — will be open to the public from Thursday, July 18–Sunday, July 21, and will boast some of the biggest Titans at SDCC … literally.
- Fans can see how they measure up next to gigantic blown-up versions of Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven, Robin and Starfire — ranging from 17–30 feet tall! — from the hit Warner Bros. Animation series Teen Titans Go! (Tuesday nights at 7:30/6:30c on Cartoon Network).
- As seen in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, fans can visit a life-size LEGO® model of Bag End, Bilbo Baggins’ underground home, complete with characters Gandalf, Dwalin and Bilbo, himself, among others. To see the making of these life-size builds, click here:|
[The Hobbit Trilogy is a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM).]
- DC Comics fans won’t want to miss the chance to stand side-by-side life-size LEGO® models of the Dynamic Duo — Batman and Robin — as well as Super-Villain, The Joker, on display.
- Scooby-Doo and the Gang wouldn’t be able to solve half as many mysteries without the reliable Mystery Machine to transport them from town to town … and it’ll be parked on the lawn for all to see!
- Also on the lawn is a family picnic area with bench seating, providing the perfect spot to kick back and grab a snack, day or evening (with lighting for night).
- Plus, groove to the sounds of a live DJ, sponsored by Eventmaker! Different DJs will be performing Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Fans and their families can visit the “Lawn Con” displays each day throughout Comic-Con in Bayfront Park’s grassy expanse behind the convention center.

Meet Your Favorite Celebrities
LOS ANGELES–(Marketwired – July 12, 2013) – Indican Pictures announces the exclusive Comic-Con debut of the hilarious new comedy, ‘Silent But Deadly,’ starring a Golden Globe and Emmy Nominated cast. “Who wouldn’t pick up a film starring Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island and the original Catwoman? And if that wasn’t enough, perhaps I could learn from Martin Kove how to ‘sweep the leg’ with ‘no mercy,’” stated Randolph Kret, VP of Indican Pictures.
This hysterical story takes place in a wacky retirement home antagonized by a demented kitty-masked murderer, picking off the residents one by one. Filled with ridiculous comedic moments as the elderly bicker about who wants them gone, ‘Silent But Deadly’ keeps you on your toes…or walker. But the murderer gets more than he or she bargains for when the old farts let it rip.

STAR-STUDDED PANELS FOR SYFY SERIES DEFIANCE, BEING HUMAN, WAREHOUSE 13, HAVEN AND HELIX
NEW YORK – July 15, 2013 – Following last year’s dramatic success in introducing the hit series Defiance at Comic-Con, Syfy will use 2013 Comic-Con International (July 18-21) as the launch pad for its newest scripted series Helix. The new thriller about a mysterious outbreak at a desolate Arctic outpost from Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore will premiere on Syfy in January 2014.
As part of its innovative, multi-media marketing campaign for the series, Syfy will brandish a larger-than-life wrap showcasing Helix around the Marriott Marquis & Marina Hotel, adjacent to Comic-Con headquarters in the San Diego Convention Center.
In addition to introducing the Helix creative team during one of the channel’s four star-studded show panels, Syfywill ask fans to retweet an image of the Helix Marriot Board, Like Facebook.com/Helix, and Follow @HelixSyfy to release clips of the Helix Comic-Con reel prior to the Comic-Con panel. Syfy will also feature panels for retuning original series Defiance, Being Human, Haven and Warehouse 13.
No matter what Comic-Con super fans are doing – dining out, walking around town or attending a panel – Syfy will encourage them to become part of the fun:
- For the second year in a row, Syfy will transform MaryJane’s Café into Café Defiance. The immersive experience into the world of Defiance will feature video displays, social/interactive elements and game play. The popular Defiance game will be available for purchase. In between bites at Café Defiance, customers can win a Defiance prize package by tweeting Café photos using #DefianceSDCC. There will also photo opportunities for fans to have their picture taken with “Bioman,” a character from the show.
- Two of the Dodge Chargers featured in Defiance will patrol the streets of San Diego, enticing participants to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a Dodge Charger. Attendees can enter the sweepstakes by locating the vehicles and tweeting a picture of either car to #DodgeDefiance.
- On-site at the Being Human, Defiance, Warehouse 13 and Helix star-studded panels, attendees can tweet photos and quotes using the show-specific hashtags, giving them the opportunity to win signed t-shirts and DVDs from the four series.
- All social activity will be aggregated to Syfy.com/ComicCon so that those fans unable to attend in person can experience the excitement. All official and user-generated posts will be dynamically updated in real time all week long. Online fans can also tweet out the Syfy.com/ComicCon url to enter for a chance to win a Xbox 360.
Syfy will also serve as the title sponsor of the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, the “Oscars” of the comic book industry, for the second consecutive year.
