WWE Superstar Randy Orton to Attend Wizard World Louisville Comic Con 2014

Randy Orton

Press Release:

WWE® Superstar Randy Orton® To Attend Wizard World Louisville Comic Con on Saturday, March 29

WWE’s ‘Apex Predator’ Joins Top Celebrities Matt Smith, Michael Rooker, Summer Glau, Sean Astin At Inaugural Pop Culture Festival At Kentucky International Convention Center

LOUISVILLE, Ky., February 26, 2014 – WWE® Superstar Randy Orton® makes a triumphant return to Wizard World when he appears at the inaugural Louisville Comic Con on Saturday, March 29, at the Kentucky International Convention Center. Orton will meet fans, sign autographs and pose for photo-ops in a three-hour appearance from 1-4 p.m.

From the moment he was hatched, “The Viper” walked among the ring’s most revered figures, even calling one of them “dad.” His father is WWE Hall of Famer “Cowboy” Bob Orton, his uncle Barry “Barry O” Orton and his grandfather, the late “The Big O,” Bob Orton Sr., all among the most fierce and rugged grapplers of their generations.

The voices coiling through Orton’s head today have not misguided him. And neither did Triple H and Ric Flair, who groomed Orton early on, welcoming him into their elite faction, Evolution. Under their tutelage, the 24-year-old Orton became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history at SummerSlam 2004. The next night on Raw, however, an envious Triple H, who coveted Orton’s championship, attacked his stablemate and jettisoned him from the faction.

WWE’s Apex Predator’s next move as the Face of WWE and Champions of Champions remains unknown; all that is certain is that when The Viper next strikes, it will be without warning.

“I greatly enjoyed my first Wizard World show last year, and I can’t wait to meet a whole new set of fans in Louisville, a real hotbed for wrestling,” said Orton.

Wizard World CEO John Macaluso adds, “Randy has a great following, which fans experienced first-hand in St. Louis last year. He adds a great new dimension to our stellar guest list for our first event in Louisville next month.”

Orton joins popular Wizard World celebrity guests Matt Smith, Michael Rooker, Summer Glau, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and many others among the celebrity roster headliners at Wizard World Louisville Comic Con. They will be joined by a top-drawer collection of well-known artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions in the fourth event on Wizard World’s 16-show 2014 calendar.

Wizard World Comic Con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, comics, cosplay, toys, video gaming, television, sci-fi, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more. Wizard World Louisville Comic Con show hours are Friday, March 28, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; and Sunday, March 30, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

NYC – WWE® Superstars #1 Signing

wwe121413

Mick Foley signs at Midtown Comics Downtown on Saturday, December 14th at 1:00PM!

Press Release:

Midtown Comics in New York City is excited to welcome WWE® Legend Mick Foley for a special book signing for the launch of his new comic book, WWE® Superstars #1, on Saturday, December 14th, at 1:00pm at Midtown Comics’ Downtown location. This is a limited capacity event for fans who purchase WWE® Superstars #1, and Midtown Comics advises attendees to arrive early, and dress appropriately for cold weather.

During his Hall of Fame career, three-time WWE® champion Mick Foley became one of WWE’s most unlikely success stories under the guise of three distinct personas — the unpredictable Cactus Jack, the demented hippy known as Dude Love and everyone’s favorite mental patient, Mankind. Today, Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy goes by the name on his birth certificate and is retired from the ring. The adventurous spirit that captured the hearts of fans worldwide, however, shines through in his various creative endeavors. In addition to spending time with his wife and four children, the Hardcore Legend can be found working with several charitable initiatives, delivering one-liners in his live comedy show Tales From Wrestling Past, and immersing himself in his writing. He is the author of an insightful, New York Times-bestselling autobiography “Have a Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks,” three additional memoirs, four children’s books (Two of which were illustrated by Jill Thompson, another illustrated by Jerry “The King” Lawler), two fiction novels, and now this exciting new comic series WWE® Superstars.

WWE® Superstars #1: Written by Mick Foley with art by Alitha Martinez.

Titan City: A metropolis where everyone’s hiding secrets and there’s no one to trust. In a corrupt world where everyone is looking to cash in, we’ll follow the journey of three men… John Cena’s been framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Randy Orton’s on the verge of achieving citywide power. And CM Punk is determined to bring the whole corrupt system crashing down. From the scheming Southside to the barren desert no man’s land where even the law refuses to go, the powerful factions of Titan City are locked in a battle for control in an unforgettable noir landscape.

MIDTOWN COMICS opened its first store in 1997, and is now the industry’s leading retailer of comic books, graphic novels, and manga, with its online store as well as three landmark New York City locations in Times Square, Grand Central and Downtown, as well as comics boutiques in the iconic FAO Schwarz Fifth Avenue and Toys“R”Us Times Square.
