Start Date (Format mm/dd/yyyy)

End Date (Format mm/dd/yyyy)

About This Convention
Star Wars fans have a rare opportunity to meet Dickey Beer in person August 5-7, 2016.

Mr. Beer is the actor / stuntman who played Boba Fett in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi! In Return of the Jedi Mr. Beer was also an Imperial Biker Scout, Stormtrooper, Gamorrean Guard, and “Barada”… one of Jabba’s skiff guards. Mr. Beer’s Hollywood resume includes Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade among his many fan-favorite credits.

Joining Mr. Beer are Gerald Home and Bill Blair.

Gerald Home was also a masked actor in Star Wars: Return fo the Jedi. His first character from Jabba’s Palace was named “Tessek” according to the Star Wars Expanded Universe (or Squid Head to collectors of vintage Kenner action figures). In later scenes Mr. Home portrayed a Mon Calamari Officer on the bridge of Admiral Ackbar’s attack cruiser during the assault on the second Death Star.

Bill Blair has made frequent appearances on Babylon 5, Deep Space 9, Star Trek: Enterprise, Charmed, and dozens of other sci-fi and fan culture series’; often without the need to reprise roles. Mr. Blair set the Guinness World Record for “Most Special Effect Make-Up Characters Portrayed in a Career” back in May of 2011 with 202 characters, in addition to the roles he has continued to play in the five years since.

The actors will be meeting fans and signing autographs at Infinicon, a three day convention in Addison (North Dallas), Texas that features costuming, science fiction, steampunk, and gameshow content along with console gaming tournaments, an art show with exhibiting artists, and a vendor room.

Everyone is talking about Infinicon! The three-day convention featuring cosplay, steampunk, console gaming, gameshows, celebrity guests, an art show, vendor room, and artist alley is August 5th through 7th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Addison, Texas.

Friday is the tournament of costumes. Take your top costumes into a one-of-a-kind head-to-head tournament! First place is a Brother brand embroidery sewing machine and second place is a Brother sewing serger.

Friday night Los Bastardos, Dallas’ premiere shadowcast, presents the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Entrance is free for all convention attendees… Although you must be seventeen with ID or accompanied.

Saturday afternoon is the Cosplay Contest presented by CosPod. Buy your convention badge in advance and you can register online to compete.

Sunday is the Cosplay Community swap meet. Tables are available from the Vendor Registration Page on the website. The ballroom is open to the public to shop until 5pm. No badge is required for entry. All costume communities and genres are welcome to participate.

All weekend long there is console gaming sponsored by The Slurred Nerd. Daily tournaments have $300 cash in combined prizes.

The steampunk track is provided by Mad Raven Productions.

The JediCole Universe is producing fun game shows to challenge your nerd and fan culture knowledge and skills.

And the United States of Geekdom have put together some Infinicon exclusive content for their fans, followers, and new found friends.

Taffeta Darling stars as Infinicon’s 2016 Cosplay Guest of the year. Starting out as a pinup model and cosplayer, Taffeta was nominated and won Sam Johnson’s coveted “Fan Babe of the Year for 2010”, and was a top three finalist in the “Hot Rods and Heels” Texas Pin-Up Model of the Year for 2011. She created the YouTube channel: “FanGirls” which features DIY video discussions and reviews on video games, comics, novels, movies, conventions and other pop culture musts.

You too can become a part of the show. Volunteer positions; panel, performance, and content provider applications; vendor and exhibitor booths; small press and artist tables; and art show submission guidelines are all available from the main website.

Buy your badge and book your hotel room today. (Really, today!)

Infinicon. It’s the convention everyone is talking about. Tell your friends.

Discounted tickets are available online in advance, or are available at the door on the days of the event: August 5-7, 2016.
