COMIC-CON ANNOUNCES FIRST WAVE OF GUESTS FOR 2015 SHOW

Additional Guests To Be Announced In The Coming Weeks

SAN DIEGO- Comic-Con International (Comic-Con), the nonprofit educational organization dedicated to creating awareness of and appreciation for comics and popular art, today announced the first wave of special guests for its venerated summer show. The event will again be held in San Diego beginning on Thursday, July 9, and running though Sunday, July 12, 2015, at the San Diego Convention Center.

“Comic-Con is grateful to feature such talented individuals from comics and popular art,” commented David Glanzer, spokesperson for the nonprofit organization.  Indeed 2015 is shaping up to be another spectacular year in terms of talent joining the four-day extravaganza.

The first round of guests include

Writer Kelly Sue DeConnick: Captain Marvel, Pretty Deadly, Bitch Planet.

Artist Carlos Ezquerra: Co-creator, Judge Dredd, Stontium Dog.

Author Lev Grossman: The Magicians.

Writer/director/producer Reginald Hudlin: Django Unchained, Black Panther animated series.

Artist/illustrator William Stout: The Dinosaurs.

About This Convention
Lake Count.I.Con is a pop-culture expo held at the 65,000 square-foot Lake County Fairgrounds Convention Center. The event features over 500 booths and tables of artists, writers, guests, crafters, dealers, and collectors displaying and selling their pop-culture wares. This includes comic books, tabletop games, retro toys, books, video games, costumes, movie memorabilia, and much more.
Also at the event, attendees can play in gaming tournaments, get autographs from celebrity guests, participate in costume contests, learn arts in workshops, listen to guest speakers, learn new tabletop games, and mingle with thousands of other pop-culture fans.
This is a family friendly event that encourages creativity, promotes cultural awareness, and directly benefits small businesses.Event Details:
*Adult and children’s costume (cosplay) contest

*2,000 sqft video game tournament area with 20 HD TVs, consoles, and PC LAN gaming

*80 tables of local and national talent including, artists, authors, and sculptors

*4,000 sqft area for table top gaming tournaments including, Magic the Gathering, NetRunner, WarHammer and others

*2 conference rooms with guest speakers and workshops running all day on both days of the event

*Hundreds of booths featuring local and national businesses selling and trading pop-culture collectibles

*$5 admission for adults

*Free admission for children under 12 and active-duty military

*Get in FREE on Sunday with paid admission on Saturday

The event is created, hosted, and managed by local, Round Lake residents and staffed by volunteers from all over the Lake County area.
