Press Release:

Tickets for Anime NYC 2018 Powered By Crunchyroll, New York’s Japanese pop culture and anime convention, are now on sale for the con’s return on November 16-18, 2018 after the inaugural celebration welcomed over 20,000 fans to New York’s Javits Center this past November. 2018 tickets are available at www.animenyc.com/tickets and range from $40-50 for single day passes, full Weekend passes for $65, and Mega passes enabling exclusive opportunities, early access, and more for $295.

Anime NYC 2018 will build on the exciting programming, special guests, and more that attendees of the inaugural show enjoyed, with plans for next year’s convention to take over additional halls in the Javits Center to bring together even more fans – looking to double 2017’s 250,000+ square feet. This year, fans took part in events including the Fullmetal Alchemist liveaction film’s US premiereGundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower concert and premiere, Anime Diva Night powered by Anisong World Matsuri, and the NYC Ramen Summit, celebrating with 200 publishers and exhibitors from across the Japanese pop culture space including Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Bandai Namco, Bandai Visual, Bluefin, Kinokuniya, Kodansha, Sentai Filmworks, SUNRISE, Vertical, VIZ Media, and Yen Press. Plans are already in the works for even more in 2018.

Anime NYC started with the dream of creating a community for NYC’s anime fans and a platform for anime publishers in the biggest city in America,” says Peter Tatara, Vice President of Anime Events for LeftField Media. That dream became real this year, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with what was accomplished. Now, our mission moving forward is clear – to create an even more exciting event with fans and publishers remaining at our core, building the best anime convention possible for the city of New York.”

Fans attending the inaugural Anime NYC hailed from all five of New York’s boroughs and 38 different states. International fans flew in from 10 countries including Canada, Mexico, Australia, Spain, and Japan to come together around their favorite fandoms.

Tickets for Anime NYC 2018 at New York’s Javits Center (655 W 34th St) on November 16-18 are now available at www.animenyc.com/tickets, with any orders by October 15, 2018 shipped directly to fans. Press Release:

Anime Boston, the largest anime convention in New England, has announced its second Japanese guest of honor. Asaka will be performing at Anime Boston at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, Mass, on March 30 through April 1, 2018.

Asaka is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter with a powerful voice and even more powerful talent. She was born in Japan in 1999 but lived in the United States as a child. When she moved back to Japan at eight years old, she was immediately drawn to Japanese anime and in particular their soundtracks. It was her dream to become a professional singer and record her own anime theme song. Asaka devoted herself to learning all she could about music, even participating in and winning several karaoke contests.

Only eighteen years old, she’s already taking the music industry by storm. Her debut single “Open Your Eyes” has over a million views on YouTube and was chosen to be the ending theme for the anime Occultic;Nine. Since her debut in October 2016, Asaka has released two other hit singles: “Edelweiss” which was used as the ending song of A Centaur’s Life and “Play the Game” which was used as the opening for the visual novel for Occultic;Nine and also was ranked 47th on the Oricon charts.

“We are so excited to be able to present Asaka at Anime Boston. She’s one of the brightest young stars in music today and Anime Boston is the best place to introduce her to her American fans!” said Victor Lee, Convention Chairman.

She also has her own radio program and has made several television & radio appearances. In her spare time, Asaka loves doing karaoke, watching anime, and designing nails and cosplay.

This is her first U.S. appearance.

Check her out on YouTube!

Previously announced guests include FLOW.
