Cincinnati Comic Expo 2019 Adds Further Guests


Cincinnati Comic Expo has announced several new additions to their 2019 guest list including Lawrence Makoare, BJ Ward, Neil Ross, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Darryl Banks, David Michael Beck, and more for the convention on September 20-22, 2019!

Actor Lawrence Makoare is making a rare convention appearance by coming to the 2019 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Among his most notable roles are the portrayal of both Gothmog as well as the Witch-King in The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Lurtz in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Bolg in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and Mr. Kil in Die Another Day. His other projects and credits include Xena: Warrior Princess, Young Hercules, Marco Polo, and more.

Voice actress B.J. Ward will be joining us this year for her first Cincinnati Comic Expo! With over 200 projects and credits, B.J. is known for numerous characters and roles. She was the voice Scarlett in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, G.I Joe: The Revenge of Cobra, G.I. Joe, and G.I. Joe: The Movie. Over the last 20 years, she has voiced Velma in numerous Scooby-Doo features and video games. B.J. also portrayed Princess Allura and Ginger in Voltron: Defender of the Universe, Voltron: Fleet of Doom, and Voltron: The Third Dimension. In addition, she was the voice of Wonder Woman in The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians and so much more!

Neil Ross is the next guest coming to the 2019 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Neil is recognized in hundreds of shows, films, and credits. Fans known him as Shipwreck, Monkeywrech, and Buzzer in various G.I. Joe projects such as A Real American Hero, The Revenge of Cobra, G.I. Joe, and The Movie. He also portrayed Keith and other characters in Voltron: Defender of the Universe, Voltron: Fleet of Doom, and Voltron: The Third Dimension. In addition, he is the voice of Bonecrusher, Springer, Hook, and others in The Transformers series and animated movie. Neil is also credited with An American Tail as Honest John, John Rambo in Rambo, Dick Tracy, Gremlins 2, The Lion King, Rugrats, and so much more!

Colleen Clinkenbeard is the latest voice actress to join the lineup for the 2019 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Colleen is known for numerous projects and shows including One Piece, Fairy Tail, and My Hero Academia. Among her hundreds of other credits are Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Dragon Ball Super, Detective Conan, Fullmetal Alchemist, Yuri!!! On Ice, RWBY, Fruit Baskets, and so much more! Colleen has also voiced characters in the Borderlands video game franchise, as well as Dragon Ball, Battleborn, Smite, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, and others.

Local comic artist and writer Craig Boldman is attending the 2019 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Craig Boldman is a longtime creator for Archie Comics, known best for his more than 100-issue run on the Jughead comic, and for two decades of the Archie syndicated comic strip. His first comic book credits were as a writer of Superman stories. Most recently, he is the illustrator of “Search for Spock – A Star Trek Book of Exploration (A Highly Illogical Parody).” Craig’s latest and greatest original comic creation is the humor thriller, ‘Tailipoe.’

Creator, artist, and writer Darryl Banks returns to the Queen City to be a guest for the 2019 Cincinnati Comic Expo! After his start on Cyberpunk and Justice Machine, Darryl has been at Marvel and DC. The numerous titles with his work include X-Men, Doc Savage, Superman, Tomb Raider, JLA, Captain America, and much more! Most notably, Darryl is recognized for his work on Green Lantern, where he co-created Kyle Rayner and is credited with the designs of costumes of many characters.

Creator and artist Gavin Smith is our next guest announced for the 2019 Cincinnati Comic Expo! He is the artist on the comic books “The Accelerators” and “All Superheroes Must Die”. He has also illustrated a series of Motion Comics for AT&T, completed a story for “68” for Image Comics, and a horror adaptation of “Pop Goes the Weasel” for Line Webtoon. In 2012 created and self published his own comic book “Human City”.

Local artist and Cincinnati Comic Expo Poster Mastermind David Michael Beck will be attending the 2019 Cincinnati Comic Expo! David is known for his contributions to Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Jonah Hex, and Chaos! Comics including Lady Death, Red Sonja, and Robocop. Other projects have included work with The Boy Scouts of America, Playboy Enterprises, Hasbro Toy Company, Delta and United Airlines, The America’s Cup Campaign, The Grammy Awards, Warner Brothers, Universal Pictures, Anheuser-Bush, Miller Brewing Co., Dow Jones, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, Coca-Cola, Sony Entertainment, The Grateful Dead, Marvel, DC, TopCow, and Dark Horse Comics.

Now celebrating 10 years! Cincinnati’s largest Comic Con and Pop Culture Expo has been around for a decade in the Queen City. The annual event brings together the best artists, publishers, actors, writers, cosplayers, and fans from across the world. September 20-22, 2019, in downtown Cincinnati.
