Press Release:

Hero Initiative, the non-profit organization that aids comic book creators in medical and financial need, breezes into Chicago for the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, also known as C2E2, located at McCormick Place March 22-24.

Artist Barry Kitson (Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers) will be Hero’s EXCLUSIVE guest all weekend at the Hero booth, #529. Check us out!

And before the con even starts, head to C2E2 Drink & Draw Thursday March 21 from 8-11 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel bar! Mingle with fans, meet creators, and take home a one-of-a-kind drawing! Attendees who pay $20 to aid The Hero Initiative will receive a blank Hero Initiative drink coaster perfect for sketching! Fans will be randomly assigned an artist from participating creators Jim Calafiore, Adelso Corona, Sean Forney, Barry Kitson, Aaron Kuder, Ken Lashley, Marat Mychaels, Richard Pace, Tim Seeley, Sajad Shah, Jill Thompson, and Thom Zahler. Bring the coaster to your artist and they’ll create a unique drawing just for you!

On Friday night, the party shifts to Nick’s on Wilson, 1140 West Wilson in Chicago! 3 Floyds Brewing Co. will be on hand with beer specials, and raffle drawings will be held for more than $500 worth of prizes! Hang out with some of your favorite creators from the con from 8:30 p.m. to midnight!

On Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., catch the world premiere of A Little Help From Our Friends, vol. 2! John Schaefer and a consortium of Chicago creators have put together an amazing anthology book benefiting Hero! Only 100 copies of this limited edition have been made, and the whole crew will be on hand to sign at the Hero booth!

And as always Hero Initiative’s creative ambassadors are on the floor collecting for Hero at their own tables. Please swing by and say “hi” to Arthur Adams, Jim Calafiore, Joyce Chin, Sean Forney, Brian Haberlin, Jonathan Hickman, Barry Kitson, Aaron Kuder, Tom Lyle, Jai Nitz, Richard Pace, Andrew Pepoy, Stuart Sayger, Brent Schoonover, Tim Seeley, Joe Staton, Jill Thompson, Robert Venditti, Marv Wolfman, and Thom Zahler.
