Planet Comicon Kansas City, the largest and longest-running comic book convention and pop culture event in the region, is honored to announce that artist Doug Mahnke will be making a rare 2019 convention appearance at our 20th anniversary event. Mahnke is the current and ongoing artist on Detective Comics, with writer Peter Tomasi, and is the principal artist for the historic Detective Comics #1000, which will be released Wednesday, March 27th, just a few days before the convention.
A Planet Comicon Kansas City exclusive variant edition, available at the show, will feature cover art by Doug Mahnke.
This will be a rare opportunity to obtain Mahnke’s autograph on this milestone book in the Batman mythos, or on one of the many other books on which he has worked during his long and distinguished career in comics. He will appear at the show all three days.
Mahnke will have original art from Detective Comics available for sale at his booth as well as other books, plus new items never before offered. There will be no charge for signatures, except for a planned $10 fee (fee subject to change) for signature series autographs witnessed for CBCS or CGC verification.
