NJ – Girls Resist Signing

KaeLyn Rich appears at WORD Bookstore on Thursday, September 6 at 4:30 PM to sign GIRLS RESIST!

From Joan of Arc to Malala Yousafzai, young women have always been capable of changing the world through action. And we’ve seen even more examples of this awesomeness since the 2016 U.S. presidential election. All across the United States—and around the world—teens are raising their voices about and taking charge of important issues, from gun control and immigration to equal rights for one and all. They may be unable to vote, but teenage activists like 1000 Black Girl Books creator Marley Dias and March for Our Lives spokesperson Emma Gonzalez have demonstrated the power of teens to lead grassroots movements and inspire change in their communities and nationwide.

KaeLyn Rich is a staff writer for the popular queer women’s website Autostraddle.com. A feminist, direct-action organizer, nonprofit lifer, and sexuality educator, she is the assistant advocacy director of the ACLU of New York and former community affairs coordinator for Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York.
