Luli Penna appears at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum on Thursday, April 19th at 4:00 PM to speak about Brazilian comics.
Luli Penna is a Brazilian illustrator and cartoonist. She publishes political charges and weekly cartoons in women’s magazines, Piauí magazine, and in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo. She is the author of the graphic novel Sem dó (No Pity), which is set in São Paulo in the 1920s. Following the time period of the story, Penna abandons speech balloons as an homage to silent films.
