CA – Tetris: The Games People Play Signing

Box Brown appears in conversation with author/illustrator MariNaomi, at Earth-2 Comics on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from noon till 2:00 PM to celebrate the release of TETRIS: THE GAMES PEOPLE PLAY from publisher First Second.

For the first time and in unparalleled detail, TETRIS tells the true story of the world’s most popular video game. In 1984, Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in his spare time while developing software for the Soviet government. Once Tetris emerged from behind the Iron Curtain, it was an instant hit. Nintendo, Atari, Sega—game developers big and small all wanted Tetris. In his new graphic novel, Box Brown untangles this complex history and delves deep into the role games play in art, culture, and commerce.

Box Brown is an Ignatz Award-winning cartoonist, illustrator, and comic publisher from Philadelphia. His first graphic novel with First Second Books,Andre the Giant: Life and Legend, was released in 2014 and spent three weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
