Boston Comic Con, Dick’s Last Resort, Newbury Comics and Faneuil Hall Marketplace are teaming up for the third annual pre-convention Boston Comic Con Parade & Costume Contest at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The contest is open to the public and will feature a costume parade around Quincy Market and prizes for the top three adult winners. New this year, the contest will also feature a special Kids Category. The 2015 Boston Comic Con will be held July 31, August 1 and August 2 at Seaport World Trade Center.
Contestants of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Super Hero, comic book character, and beyond (all costumes should be family friendly.) The contest, hosted by Cosplay Event Organizer star Pat Covey, will kick off with a “Costume Parade” around Quincy Market, beginning and ending at Dick’s Last Resort. The Parade will also feature Cosplay star and 2015 Boston Comic Con guest Bellechere. Boston Comic Con will also host its annual Costume Contest “Cosplay” during the Convention on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Seaport World Trade Center.
Judges include the winner of last year’s Parade & Costume Contest Justin Aucoin of Boston who won 1st place dressed as Edward Kenway of Assassin’s Creed and representatives from Newbury Comics, Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Boston Comic Con.
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and Kids Category will be awarded. 1st place winner will receive two three-day passes to Boston Comic Con. 2nd place winner will walk away with a $100 gift certificate to Dick’s Last Resort. 3rd place winner will be awarded a $50 gift certificate to Newbury Comics. Winner of the Kids Category will receive two one-day passes to Boston Comic Con!

Contestants should RSVP through Event Brite. Registration to enter the Parade and Costume Contest will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Dick’s Last Resort. The parade will begin at 12:15 p.m. and the final winners will be announced at 12:45 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. However, space is limited and contestants will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to compete! RSVPs required only for contestants, not for spectators.

Newbury Comics, a longtime exhibitor at Boston Comic Con, will be located at the Boston Comic Con Exhibition area in the Seaport World Trade Center. The 9th Annual Boston Comic Con will host a three-day convention at the Seaport World Trade Center Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2, 2015.
Boston Comic Con enters its 9th year with comic industry icon Stan Lee, co- creator of Marvel Comics, leading the celebrity appearances over the three-day convention. Lee, 92, former president and chairman of Marvel Comics and co-creator of superheroes Spider Man, Iron Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers and the X-Men, will appear at the convention on all three days. Other celebrity guests include Gillian Anderson of “The X Files,” Billie Piper of “Doctor Who,” Hayley Atwell of Marvel’s “Agent Carter,” Thomas Jane of The Punisher, Robin Lord Taylor of the hit television show “Gotham,” Brett Dalton of Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Manu Bennett of the hit TV series Arrow and Elvira, the one and only Mistress of the Dark. Celebrities will participate in panel discussions, Q&As, photo ops, and autograph signings throughout the three-day convention. New this year is an opening kick-off party and “Drink and Draw” where comic book artists are on hand to literally drink and draw for their fans. Both events are complimentary for Boston Comic Con ticket holders and will be held on Friday evening, July 31 at the Seaport World Trade Center Head House Concourse. Other events include: 2nd annual Cosplay dinner cruise, an after-party at Laugh Boston, a comic film festival, a comic art auction on Saturday, August 1 with proceeds going to the Mike Wieringo scholarship fund for aspiring comic artists, and the annual Boston Comic Con Cosplay Costume Contest will be held on Sunday, August 2 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Tickets are only being sold online through Boston Comic Con. There will be no tickets purchased at the door.
