The dinner, to be held at The Ritz Carlton (2121 McKinney Ave.), will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a seated dinner and program. Greg Pak will be interviewed by culture critic and long-time friend Robert Wilonsky, Dallas Observer “Unfair Park” Editor. Roz Chast appears at 8pm on November 19, 2011 at UC Berkeley.
Press Release:
New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast is a brilliant interpreter of the everyday—”the magazine’s only certifiable genius,” according to editor David Remnick. More than 1,000 of her hilariously skewed cartoons have appeared since 1978, featuring a recurring cast of generally hapless but relatively cheerful “everyfolk.” In her work, Chast addresses such prickly issues as guilt, anxiety, aging, families, money, and as she would say, “much, much more!” Her Cal Performances talk features an illustrated tour of the evolution of her drawing style, audience Q&A, and a book signing to follow.
