With September’s relaunch of 52 titles from DC Comics, the Baltimore Comic-Con is happy to announce the addition of three creators heading up those titles – Scott Snyder, Paul Levitz, and Ron Marz - to the line-up for this year’s show.
Scott Snyder, who will be writing DC’s Batman and Swamp Thing, made a huge impact on the comic industry of the last year with his work on the New York Times bestselling series, American Vampire and his critically-acclaimed run on Detective Comics. Snyder is currently writing the Flashpoint tie-in miniseries, Project Superman. Snyder has been nominated for two Harvey Award this year in the categories of Best New Series and Most Promising New Talent for his work on American Vampire.
Paul Levitz, who will continue his run as writer on Legion of Super-Heroes in September, is a mainstay in the comic industry. For over 35 years, Levitz has served as a writer, editor, and executive at DC Comics. His work on the Legion throughout the late-’70s and ’80s is widely-regarded as some of the most quintessential stories in the DCU. In addition to writing Legion, it has just been announced that Levitz will be writing the 6-issue mini-series, The Huntress, beginning in October. This year, he received a Harvey Award nomination in the category of Best Biographical, Historical or Journalistic Presentation for his work on 75 Years of DC Comics: The Art of Modern Myth-Making.
Ron Marz, who will usher Wildstorm’s Voodoo into the DCU in September, has been writing comics professionally since the early-’90s, having worked for such companies as Marvel, Dark Horse, CrossGen, Devil’s Due, Valiant, and DC. Well-known as one the creators who helped to revitalize both the Green Lantern franchise in the late-’90s and Top Cow’s Witchblade in 2004, Marz is currently working on the Top Cow series, Artifacts.
“DC’s announcement about the relaunch of their entire super-hero line rocked the comic industry and will redefined their characters for years to come,” said Marc Nathan, show promoter of the Baltimore Comic-Con. “We’re so excited to have some of the A-crop creators behind this momentous move join us for this year’s show!”

Sam Sarkar signs on July 27th, starting at 7:00 P.M. at Golden Apple Comics!
THE VAULT is about a small team of treasure hunters, struggling to excavate a dangerous and legendary treasure pit before a massive storm hits Sable Island, the “Graveyard of the North Atlantic.” Equipped with all the latest technology, the scientists believe they are prepared against all of nature’s fury, but nothing can prepare them for what they are about to unleash.
“THE VAULT is kind of a contemporary Pandora’s Box story,” explained creator and writer, Sam Sarkar. “Though it appears on the surface to be a pretty straightforward story, it has most of its mythology buried deeply. It gets uncovered both literally and figuratively as the pit gets excavated.”
THE VAULT issue #1 autograph event will take place in Los Angeles at Golden Apple Comics on July 27th, 2011 from 7-9 P.M. at 7018 Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. For more information, please call 323-658-6047.

Honey badger spotted at Comic-Con! — EXCLUSIVE VIDEO
Six months ago, the world was introduced to the honey badger via a laugh-out-loud funny viral video narrated by a sassy man known only as Randall. The indefatigable animal, Randall explained, “doesn’t give a s—.” You know who else doesn’t give a s—? The denizens of Comic-Con, a famously audacious crowd who think nothing of parading in public in all manner of crevice-hugging, skin-revealing costumes.
So Entertainment Weekly asked Randall, along with colleagues John Carlucci, Chris Gordon, and Dave Schlow, to turn their eyes to the wilds of the San Diego convention center during the height of Comic-Con craziness. They delivered an exclusive video report from San Diego Comic-Con International, or, as Randall initially puts it, “the San Diego Zoo’s annual Come Along Intentionally Tour!”
