Charles Burns signs on October 21st from 7:00PM – 8:00PM.
From the creator of Black Hole: the first volume of an epic masterpiece of graphic fiction in brilliant color.
X’ed Out, unlike Black Hole, has not been previously serialized, and every unnervingly meticulous panel is more tantalizing than the last. Drawing inspiration from such diverse influences as Herge and William Burroughs, Charles Burns has given us a dazzling spectral fever-dream and a comic-book masterpiece

Vanessa Davis signs on October 6th from 7:00 – 8:00PM.
Vanessa Davis’ new book, Make Me A Woman will confirm her spot as one of the leading cartoonists and humorists of her generation. No story is too painful to tell-like how much she enjoyed fat camp-nor too personal-like her stories of growing up Jewish in Florida. Using her sweet but biting wit, Davis effortlessly carves out a wholly original and refreshing niche in two well-worn territories: autobio comics and the Jewish identity. Using beautiful watercolors, refreshing honesty and humor, her comics are sure to make an immediate impression.
This event is co-hosted by Tablet Magazine, a daily online magazine of Jewish ideas, news and culture. Marjorie Ingall, who writes about parenting for Tablet, will speak with Vanessa about her new book.

Fred Hembeck Guest at September 26th East Hanover NJ Expo
September 20, 2010 by Brian Pate
Filed under Comic Books, Convention News, New Jersey
Press Release:
The special guest artist at the East Hanover, NJ Comic Book Expo on Sunday, September 26th will be Fred Hembeck! The show is being held at the Ramada Inn Conference Center Hotel, 130 RT 10 West, East Hanover, NJ. Hours are 10-4, admission is only $2 (kids under 12 free) and there is plenty of free parking!
Fred Hembeck was born in 1953, reborn in 1959 when he read his very first comic book, and born yet a third time in 1977 when, while attempting to break into the comics biz, he somehow BECAME a comic book character himself (which is much too long a story to go into here, trust me…)!! Since then, he’s notched such accomplishments as serving as staff cartoonist for The Daily Planet, roasted The Fantastic Four, and most infamously, destroyed the Marvel Universe (or tried to, anyway…)!! These days, Fred continues to churn out his quirky, squiggle-laden cartoons from his upstate New York home, in the company of Lynn Moss, his wife of three decades, Julie Hembeck, daughter of two, and cats Mario and Luigi, pets of one. He enjoys leaving the house occasionally to meet with fans at events like the East Hanover Comic Book Show–and promises not to talk in the third person while doing so, honest!!

About Top Cow Productions Inc.
Top Cow Productions, Inc. (www.topcow.com), a Los Angeles-based entertainment company, was founded in December of 1992 by artist Marc Silvestri, who also co-founded Image Comics earlier that same year. Top Cow currently publishes its line of comic books in 21 languages in over 55 different countries. The company has launched 20 franchises (18 original and two licensed) in the industry’s Top 10, seven at #1, a feat accomplished by no other publisher in the last two decades. Its flagship franchise, WITCHBLADE, was TNT’s #1 original film of 2000 and the subsequent TV series was released on DVD on July 29, 2008. WITCHBLADE is also the first American property to be fully adapted in Japan as an original anime and manga by Studio GONZO in 2006. Top Cow’s other flagship property, THE DARKNESS, was developed into a major next-generation video game release by Starbreeze and 2K Games and achieved platinum sales status. WANTED, an Eisner-nominated miniseries published by Top Cow from 2003-2005, is now a major motion picture from Universal Pictures starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. Virtually all of Top Cow’s other properties are in development as feature films, live-action television, animation or video games. Top Cow has also successfully licensed and merchandised its franchises into toys, statues, clothing, lithographs, puppets, posters, magnets, shot glasses, lighters, lunch pails, wall scrolls, mouse pads, die-cast cars, calendars, Christmas ornaments, Halloween masks, trading cards, standees, video games and roleplaying games.
