UDON Studios celebrates their 10th Anniversary Party and book launch for their new VENT Anthology/Instruction Book on Thursday September 17th, 8pm-10pm (Doors at 7pm) at Revival, 783 College St. (Just east of Ossington).
Come one come all, and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Toronto Publisher and Studio UDON COMICS! Food, drinks, and of course video games, in honour of their decade-long career creating work on numerous video game and comics properties!
This event will also serve as the launch for VENT, the new coffee-table book project which includes a gallery of new comics and illustrations from all of Udon’s top creators, as well as a look behind the scenes of the company and extensive art tutorials. More than a dozen Udon creators will be in attendance, and all of Toronto’s creative community and fans are invited to come out and celebrate!
This will be a big party, with music and fun in a very cool club setting, we’re expecting a massive turnout for this one…!

Meet artist Jason Kruse on Saturday September 11, 2010. Scratch 9 is the all-new all ages comics series coming summer 2010 from Ape Entertainment.
Created by writer Rob M. Worley “Scratch9â€³ features the adventures of a rascally house cat who gains the ability to summon any of his 8 other lives to his side to aid him in his adventures.
Illustrating the book is Harvey Award nominated artist Jason T. Kruse, creator of the graphic novel series turned Saturday-morning cartoon “The World of Quest”.
Jason T. Kruse is not only a veteran of the prestigious CalArts university in sunny Southern California, he is also a maker of fine comic books. More specifically, he made a comic book called THE WORLD OF QUEST.
In the animation world Jason has worked as a clean-up animator and… fill-in story artist on Steve Oedekirk’s “The Barnyard”. He has also worked on such films as “Stuart Little” and “Cats and Dogs” for Rhythm and Hues Studio in Los Angeles as well as animating and storyboarding various pilots for such companies as Disney and Nickelodeon. At Quicksilver he was the character animator on four separate games including the recently released, “Master of Orion 3â€³, “Cashflow 101 and 202â€³ as well as numerous games for the United States Army.
Jason works at Helixe Studio outside of Boston on the handheld Nintendo adaptations of Pixar’s next films.
Jason is also currently writing and overseeing his first animated series, THE WORLD OF QUEST, which will air Saturday mornings on the CW.
Special guests will be The Purr-fect Cat Shelter a non-profit, no-kill, all-volunteer organization.

The North Bennington Plein Air Competition will be held September 8-12 in North Bennington, Vermont. This first-annual event brings together an invited list of on-location painters in a lovely setting.
There will be a quick draw, a wagon ride for artists to scout motifs, an auction, cash prizes, and various social events. Art buyers will be able to acquire some fine works in various media. I’ll be there as a judge, but I’ll be painting as well.
I’ll also be giving two lectures:
