Mike Mignola signs at Golden Apple Comics on May 15 starting at 1pm.
Television legend GERRY ANDERSON will be signing the two new volumes of Century 21: Classic Comic Strips From The Worlds Of Gerry Anderson, at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8JR on Saturday 1st May 2 – 3pm. He will be joined by the series editor CHRIS BENTLEY.
From its launch 1965, TV Century 21 (later known simply as TV 21) was the smash-hit British comic of the 1960s. Thunderbirds, Lady Penelope, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 all burst forth in full colour from the magazine’s packed pages, in stories illustrated by such giants of the comic industry as Frank Bellamy, Don Harley, Mike Noble, Ron and Gerry Embleton.
Gerry Anderson needs no introduction as the creator of the massive number of still hugely popular TV series that include Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Stingray and Space 1999.
Chris Bentley was Chairman of Fanderson, the Official Gerry Anderson Fan Club, for over ten years. He is the author of The Complete Gerry Anderson and The Complete Book of Gerry Anderson’s UFO.

That’s Entertainment in Worcester, MA joins with thousands of comic book shops around the world to celebrate the unique American art form that is comic books. The day has been dubbed “Free Comic Book Day,” and its goal is to introduce as many people to the wonders of comic books as possible.
When you visit That’s Entertainment on May 1st, you will find a great variety of free comics. There are comics for children, for families to enjoy together, for adults, and especially for people who think they would never read a comic book.
Unlike video stores, bookstores, and movie theaters, comic book stores are usually independently owned and operated, with no national chains dominating the market. As a result, each store is as individual as its owner, a celebration of the incredible diversity in the comic book field. Those who think comic books are “just for kids” or “old-fashioned” will be pleasantly surprised by the broad range of reading material available at their local comic book store.
Regular updates, information about comic books, and lists of participating publishers (and their comics) are all online at the FCBD website.

ABOUT THE FILM
Somewhere between “Dilbert” and Mars Attacks! lies Drones, a very funny new office comedy where an unassuming corporate lackey realizes his co-workers hold the very fate of the planet in their hands. Brian (Jonathan M. Woodward, “Angel”) quite happily keeps his head down at his job, working away as a faceless non-entity, making copies, sending faxes, answering e-mails and sitting through endless PowerPoint presentations. But all that changes when his pal Clark (Samm Levine, “Freaks and Geeks”) urges Brian to ask out officemate Amy (Angela Bettis, May). Brian’s thrilled to have a girlfriend — and their co-workers immediately dub them “Bramy” — but less enthusiastic to discover that both Clark and Amy are actually aliens from two different planets, and that’s the sort of thing that can really put a strain on a new relationship. (When Amy tells Brian she’ll take him back to her home planet after Earth gets destroyed, he responds, “We’ve been dating a week—it’s too soon to talk about moving in together.”) Can the planet be saved? And will someone do something about the main office’s memo about spreadsheets? This exceedingly droll and deadpan comedy boasts a terrific cast, from its three charming leads to reliably hilarious character actors like James Urbaniak (American Splendor, “The Venture Bros.”), Dave “Gruber” Allen, comedian Paul F. Tompkins, and Tangi Miller (“Felicity”). Directors Amber Benson and Adam Busch — who became a couple off-screen after his character Warren killed her Tara on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” — and screenwriters Ben Acker and Ben Blacker brilliantly mesh two utterly different genres (soul-crushing-workplace comedy and alien-invasion thriller) in this witty and hilarious movie that will have you wondering what your co-workers are really up to during those visits to the copy room. Directors Amber Benson and Adam Busch in attendance.
