FL – Maidens & Monsters Closing

The Albin Polasaek Museum brings its fantasy art exhibit to a close by welcoming back one of the few sci-fi pulp artists with an enduring and varied career. Science Fiction Hall of Famer Michael Whelan has brought life to the works of writers from Edgar Rice Burroughs to Stephen King with his grotesque and grandiose imagery, and he’ll be offering insights into his technique with a visual presentation at the Winter Park Library on Saturday. Sunday, catch him at the closing reception for “Maidens and Monsters” at the Polasek, where you can see early works such as 1979′s ‘The Mastermind of Mars’ (pictured).
