Dick Giordano Passed Away

As I’m sure many of you have already read, veteran artist Bob Layton shared the news on Saturday that Dick Giordano, legendary DC Comics artist, has passed away at the age of 77.

Living in Florida, Dick was a staple of the convention scene here, and I had the opportunity to get books signed by him on many occasion. His hearing loss made conversations difficult, and with money always being scarce, I always put off getting the Batman sketch I wanted to get from him.

Although Dick was a celebrated inker, he was also one of my favorite pencillers. A great loss to the industry, he will surely be missed.
